Same problem here. After a dragdrop the mouse arrow gets corrupted, in my case
the pointer turns in two little arrows and only the left one is effective. The
workaround of opening typing in scratch works but when you drag some icon the
dragged icon is corrupted.

I can confirm that the bug is still present on Ubuntu 12.04.
After the updateupgrade, evince still takes a minute to start up, and
it is unusable. Same GRIP-WARNING messages. Same version of libgeis and
libgrip of post #38.
