This is reproducible on latest Karmic. SSH is not needed, any window
exhibits the same behavior, see the video. Starting from some width,
window decorations become corrupted.
This behavior starts from 2554 pixels width on my 1280x1024 monitor. No
problems with height of 9000 pixels, though.

How is this not a bug? The window content itself is drawn fine, the
borders become white. If there is some weird limitation on window width,
it should be simply enforced.

Just installed fglrx again in Natty. In 'maximum battery life' it is
cooler than radeon in 'low' by ~5 degrees; on my laptop, fan doesn't
even start.

How to reproduce:
Open Terminator.
Type 'left' to 'mark' the left tab.
Open a new tab (Ctrl-Shift-T).
Type 'right' to 'mark' the right tab.
Switch back to the left tab.

I'm already on Natty. Gave radeon another try, it runs at about 60 degrees, the
fan turns on for a while, but not on maximum. This is not much different from
fglrx temperature, so I'm happy.
This is hp 4720s with ATI Technologies Inc M93 [Mobility Radeon HD 4500
Series] [1002:9555] (per lspci).
