I tried the Ubuntu Eclipse version a while ago. There was the problem that the CVS did't work with extssh. So i had to switch to an downloaded eclipse from eclipse.org. The reason why i thought this is a ubuntu bug is because it happens with different JVM (including the Ubuntu packages).
