bootloader on the HDD, so that GRUB isn't on the same drive as the
Windows bootloader. It completely ignored my choice and installed GRUB

No workaround did worked for me, either no function, or the xml did
reset to default. I tried copying my old xml from a 12.10 xubuntu to the
current 14.04, without luck. Eg. trying to set maximize window to
Super+q does not work (nor dozen of other shortcuts). :(

Using Bash Smart Completion, I found that sometimes when I use wildcards
and then press tab, not all existing files are consideres for expansion
but only the first one. This is a very dangerous behaviour because
people tend to think there is only one file matching the pattern.

Having this issue when connecting to a Nokia 6500. Additional
observations: I can, for example, open the pictures on my phone using
eog just fine. Also, when I use the shell to copy them from under
/run/user/[uid]/gvfs/... this also works fine.

Same here, I see this bug for search already but it was never worse than
now, ~10 crashes per day with Xubuntu 16.04 with current updates.
I made the experience that if I select 5 files and move them to another
folder, only 4 of them disappear from the view. Then I have to press F5
(refresh) for t

I have the same issue (Kubuntu 16.10 + Backports).
I solved it by installing the "dnsmasq" package.
I had only "dnsmasq-base" installed.

I had to uninstall the package "dnsmasq" because I had problems
resolving the domains that should work (eg youtube) even with the vpn
disconnected, it had weird behavior.
I continue restarting the service "network-manager" to be able to
reconnect correctly to the vpn.

I'm having a similar issue on kernel 4.8.0-42 while running on an HP 705
G1 MT PC. This problem did not occur on the last kernel running on the
machine, which was 4.4.0-66.

I am having the issue as well on kernel 4.4.0-66 (x64). Disabling
HighDMA did not fix anything on my end and I cannot figure out what will
trigger the issue. It seems to occur randomly and even if there is no
