i think i've either had too much to drink or i've found a fix. (tho i haven't
found regressions yet).
if we were to get rid of dhcp3 and use udhcp (available in universe) then this
is fixed ^-^.
udhcpc works in this situation and from my testing... all i think needs to be
done is fix

i can confirm this on both my dapper boxes. one is a p3 @ 667mhz with
128mb sd ram and an intel i810
the other is a amd athlon xp 2100+ 768mb ddr ram the ati 9600se 128mb
using the fglrx driver
it makes firefox feel like it just crashed on the p3, but survivable on
the amd.
here's a test
this is marked as fixed upstream, has the fix been applied to dapper? i
ran across this bug today.

i've tracked it down to a gstreamer Internal data flow error, thinking of

dead by upstreams core dev afew months back. upstream has announced also
that they are looking for a new core dev, if anyone is interested.

visualizations. if they're crashing on gutsy or later then it's most
likely related to your opengl setup being crappy/broken.
either libvisual (may already do this?) or amarok need to be patched up

i don't recall the dhcp3 component being fixed. the issue disappeared
around the time network manager was introduced to ubuntu. based on this
my theory is that network manager works around this issue.
but this doesn't mean the bug is nessesarily fixed. if my theory is
correct then one would just
well this needs to marked as affecting something somewhere... cause
letting [EMAIL PROTECTED] like this fly under the radar is why windows osx are
superior products.

gutsy since then, we are now about to have yet another LTS release...
These types of issues should never survive a single release cycle, let alone 2
LTS's! Since upstream does not care about linux, I'm calling for either

with the port changed, they will just add port 8001 to the attack.
People with vulnerable routers either need to kick their vendors ass or buy a

i suffer this problem as well. it's because fglrx does support aiglx on
xorg-core 1.3 branch but not on 1.4 (which is what we've been using for a long
time in hardy).
fglrx needs to be fixed OR xorg-core needs to be reverted. (do not revert this

It appears that AutoZen is dependent on 2 (possibly more) depreciated

please check if the package firefox-gnome-support is installed. you can use
either synaptic package manager which is in the menu. System Administration
Synaptic.
Or you can use the terminal. sudo apt-get install firefox-gnome-support

sun java 6 packages don't have a marked conflict against gnome-support

I propose the removal of dhcp3-client as it appears to be inferior to
the windows dhcp client (we can't have that now) and instead have udhcpc
(which is available in universe) installed by default instead to resolve
this issue which should never happen in software that is released to the
public.
