Using Ubuntu Feisty Fawn RC 20070415 here, fully upgraded.
As of Gaim 2.0.0 beta 6, this problem seems to be fixed, as the popup
window asks the user if he wants to apply the image as background image
or send it to the other peer, as you can see with the included
screenshot.
Closing - open it
Using Gaim 2.0.0 beta 6, (included in Feisty), I opened 30 tabs and
noticed no dramatic increase in CPU usage. I was able to resize the
window and shuffle through the tabs (using the left and right arrows)
and everything worked as it should.
I think that this was probably fixed by now.

That's great, even though I'm not technical enough to understand what

Binary package hint: gdesklets-data
Hi there, this is my first bug report, apologies if it isn't appropriate
- although it is a minor problem, I don't know if this can break
something on the long run.
OS: fresh install of Feisty Fawn RC 20070415

Using gDesklets with Feisty Fawn RC 20070415 and Beryl.
At first, it seemed that when I run Beryl AFTER gDesklets, the desklets

and they simply vanished).
By closing gDesklets and running it again, everything worked just fine.

clicking to place the toolbar on the right place was simply erratic
(other windows gained focus or maximized). The only solution was to
close gdesklets, by right clicking the icon on the taskbar and
I must say that this behaviour is a let down for portuguese/brazilian
