I report the same problem, with kernel ubuntu 2.6.35-24, with 2.6.35-23
everything work correct.
The hw is the same above (asus 1215n, with AR8152 NIC ethernet port.

I have a similar issue on Ubuntu. Communicating with a /dev/ttyUSB
device works with minicom, but it doesn't with PySerial with the same
settings. It works for about 20% of the time, while other times it
messes with the data, or it hangs indefinitelly/until timeout.

the share disappeared off the network. the computer reports no

64-bit qemu-kvm with KSM enabled as by default, random high latency
occurs on network connections for VMs, as high as 4000ms - 5000ms. The

umm...okay...
well, i downloaded 8.10 beta and repeated the process and got the
expected results. it was fixed in the next release.
everything behaves exactly as expected in respect to installing the
sharing services and stuff. i clicked through, and was able to share
