[Bug 1710656] [NEW] Allow user to select power off button functionality
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS Release:16.04 The power button suspends the computer. I read the developers deemed it 'too destructive'. That is a very questionable assumption. Is the user also considered incapable of deciding what s/he wants if the dialog to power off, restart, suspend or hibernate the system is displayed? Don't they think that some users might like to at least have the chance to configure the behavior in the configuration? What is the point of having a suspend and power off buttons in a computer if both do the same? Please configure the power button to display the dialog to restart, suspend, shutdown the computer, or at least make it easy to users to select that by using the dconf-editor tool. ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1710656 Title: Allow user to select power off button functionality To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/1710656/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1299604] Re: evolution keeps asking for password
I think the fact that Evolution clears the password without interacting with the user is a bug on its own. All the workarounds are temporary and do not solve the problem. Evolution seems to have problems dealing with basic connectivity issues: connection drops, mail server temporary down (Yahoo, anyone?). Bottom line: Evolution should never ever clear the password of any account. It could ask the user to update the password if there are authentication problems (if they are not related to connectivity issues), but the decision to change the password should not be made without the user consent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1299604 Title: evolution keeps asking for password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1299604/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1035754] [NEW] Joystick doesn't properly read raw gamepad data
Public bug reported: I have a gamepad (detected as: ID 0e8f:0012 GreenAsia Inc. USB Wireless 2.4GHz Gamepad) which is actually no wireless. After running the calibration process, the retrieved range for each axis is as follows: minimum = 0, center = 12, maximum = 128. As you can see, having the center at 12 doesn't make sense and leaves the joystick working badly: * Values jump up to the maximum really quickly when moving the sticks to the left and/or up. * Values work fine (smooth changes) when moving the stick down or to the right. [Bug 966744] Re: Resume from suspend leaves me with black screen or a screen of the desktop before it suspended (though the mouse still moves/changes cursor)
For those of you with Nvidia cards having this problem: if you feel like giving it a try I solved it by doing two things, but I am not sure if the combination of both gave me the solution or just the last one: I first installed Michael Kuhn ppa and upgraded the system: sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:suraia/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade Finally I installed xorg-edgers fresh X crack ppa to use the nvidia beta drivers: sudo apt-add-repository - y ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install -y nvidia-current I then disabled this last ppa from software sources to prevent updates to the driver that is finally working as it should: the random red screen bug and freeze at shutdown/reboot and the black screen with the moving cursor problem are gone (I tried suspending the computer with tons of programs opened for hours and it worked as it used to with Maverick). [Bug 1021790] [NEW] Unable to access all dialog content on small screens
Public bug reported: When I work in my netbook, some windows in almost all programs (print dialogs, libreoffice dialogs, evolution configuration dialogs, and so on) have their content displayed beyound the screen size and it is impossible to access it. [Bug 966744] Re: Resume from suspend leaves me with black screen or a screen of the desktop before it suspended (though the mouse still moves/changes cursor)
I don't know if this is useful, but I am experiencing the blank screen + moving cursor + high CPU ussage + locked keyboard problem. I am running 12.04 AMD64 with propietary Nvidia graphic drivers. Suspend and Resume work FINE if I use Unity 2D or Gnome Classic (no effects). It does show the problem with Unity, Gnome Shell, Gnome Classic, and Cinnamon. In all of these the var/usr/pm-suspend.log shows the resume from suspend worked. I think the problem is in Compiz (at least in my case). My computer used to resume and suspend with no problem with Maverick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966744 Title: Resume from suspend leaves me with black screen or a screen of the desktop before it suspended (though the mouse still moves/changes cursor) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz-core/+bug/966744/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1019810] [NEW] Wireless card rtl8192se takes way too many tries to connect to wifi
Public bug reported: I have a realtek 8192se wifi card in my Toshiba Qosmio X500. In Maverick I had to compile and install the driver from realtek to make it work, because it had the same problem that is has now: it tries to connect and keeps failking, asking for the wifi password (which of course was the right one). The connection encryption is WPA2. The card takes too many tries to connect to the wifi. If I click on the Network Manager and disable wifi, wait a few secons, and enable it back, the chances to get a connection go up (especially if this is done as soon logged in). Once the connection is stablished, it seems stable. The bug is present with NO nvidia-current installed. In fact, the picture I attached a few days ago was taken after booting from a live CD (well, pen drive).
