I just upgraded to kernel 2.6.27-7.10 (+wacom-tools 1:0.8.1.4-0ubuntu2).
Tablet did not lose functionality as with previous kernel updates, which
is probably a good sign. Will do a clean installation of Intrepid now
(NetInst).

[intrepid] Wacom Xorg module is incompatible with the kernel
I reinstalled Intrepid using the current NetInst. In this case the tablet does
not work _at all_ after installation. Without knowledge of this bug-report I
would most likely suspect Ubuntu wasn't supporting tablets.
Functionality (of the stylus) can be restored like Caleb suggested, but how
I am having the same problem.

BTW: I tried Foresight Linux and X plus the compiz effects works for me.
Until today. I always starts the compiz effects with compiz --replace. Since
today X freeze after i started compiz and it fails -even if i reboot.

Upgraded my Notebook today, 2.6.27-7 gives the kernel panic, the former
2.6.24-21 boots fine as usual.

in a way you are right. I can either redefine the client script and put
my own or I can take care that the ip is never renewed. I think it would
be better to a have a default configuration in ubuntu that leaves
resolv.conf alone when a vpn has been opened.

Building and installing the module (1.4.6.dfsg1-2) works fine, I can see

I just encountered the same problem as Barrakketh and miekday after updating
from 7.10 to 8.04 beta.
Means I could only boot Ubuntu with the i386 kernel using only one core of my
Intel Q6600 Quadcore machine.
Updating initramfs fixed the problem for me, too.

I've just updated to 8.04 (release) and still can't get openafs to work
correctly. When listing a directory, I get something like this:

Yes, I do have a valid ticket. Did you check your openafs client only
for the server kernel? I think that's the only difference in our setup.
I don't know whether this makes any difference or not ...

openafs not working after successful install via module-assistant
I can confirm this too with password protected samba shares.
Nautlius does not ask for credentials.
gvfs-mount does, but the created share does not work.
funny thing is when using the IP number instead of the host name, everything
works as expected (nautilus and gvfs-mount). In this case
