With the i810 driver, the use of vbetool during suspend/resume causes the
display rendering to be a mess after resume. I have had to comment out vbetool
from the suspend.d ACPI scripts.

blame for causing my Xorg rendering to be corrupted after a suspend/resume
cycle. I commented out the vbetool commands from the suspend.d scripts and it
fixed the rendering corruption:

Oh! I see. I consider it a bug in your Openoffice.org packages to have
options available in the program that result in broken (text-only) toolbars! I
am installing openoffice.org-style*
and expect that'll work, but if you are going to make those packages optional,
there needs to be logic in
I can confirm that installing the icons worked, but that doesn't fix the
underlying usability issue.

I proposed a approach to simplifying and solving the desktop icon layout
issue about two or three years ago in the gnome.org bugzilla database,
but my proposal was ignored. My belief is that Nautilus should perform
icon title truncation like that which is done by Windows. So, for

find that if I suspend my laptop by selecting System -- Quit -- Suspend,
events from the Synaptics mouse and from the USB ports fail to wake the system.

Cannot build aufs (0+20080719-4) with my 2.6.27-rc6 kernel sources
I tested with this package installed: busybox-initramfs 1:1.10.2-1ubuntu5
When I attempt to boot linux-image-2.6.27-2-generic I still drop down into
busybox with the following error:

The latest build works for me as well. Also, regarding my issue with my
2.6.27-rc6 kernel, I built a new version with more drivers built as
modules and can boot the resulting kernel. I guess the initrd had to
have more modules in it to make it possible for busybox to mount my NTFS
partitions.
I have this same problem upgrading Wubi 8.04.1 to today's current Intrepid
package set.
Unfortunately, I don't know if I will be able to boot with an older kernel,
since the dist upgrade process asked me to remove unneeded packages, and I
think that included my old kernels. We'll see.

I have a HP dv1240us. In my case, this command successfully enables the Kill
switch button LED:

For Maverick, I would prefer to see a much more comprehensive set of

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 using Wubi, and then upgraded to Lucid. When I
try to boot the Lucid kernel, I get the Must load kernel first and
then when I disable screen I also see the invalid magic number
