[Bug 309684] Re: Please sync exiv2-0.18 from Debian Experimental

2009-03-14 Thread Olivier Tilloy
After giving it a quick look, I realized porting the current pyexiv2 0.1.2 to
libexiv2 0.18 was not that much work, so I got it done. The changes are small
and not really intrusive, they were affecting EXIF thumbnail related code only.
I now have a 0.1.3 branch (lp:~osomon/pyexiv2/pyexiv2-0.1.3) that compiles
against libexiv2 0.18 and provides exactly the same functionality as 0.1.2.

@Luka: I'm going to release a tarball, should I assign the bug to you?

[Bug 309684] Re: Please sync exiv2-0.18 from Debian Experimental

2009-03-14 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Note that I integrated one of the two patches to the package in the
branch (http://patch-
tracking.debian.net/patch/series/view/pyexiv2/0.1.2-4/02_noscript), that
should one patch less to maintain.

I had a look at the sources of the two rdepends, phatch and lazygal, and
none of them makes use of the thumbnailing facilities provided by
pyexiv2, so the packages shouldn't need any change (contrary to what I
stated in my previous comment, there is one small change in the API of
pyexiv2.Image.getThumbnailData).

[Bug 309684] Re: Please sync exiv2-0.18 from Debian Experimental

2009-03-15 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Luka, I don't really see the point of conditional compilation in that case.
As commented earlier, no rdepends make use of this thumbnailing code.
Moreover, pyexiv2 being a python module, no compilation process is involved for
rdepends, so as long as the API doesn't change, clients don't care about which
version of libexiv2 is behind the scenes.

I'm closing this one as duplicate of bug #456271. You can add your
comments there, in particular the fact that Moovida doesn't remember the
last window's position after exiting is an interesting point.

[Bug 480671] [NEW] Firefox auto-completes login fields in a case-insensitive manner

2009-11-11 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

(may be related to bug #469981)

If I have two username/password pairs for two web applications in the
same domain (say http://example.com/app1/login and
http://example.com/app2/login), and if the usernames happen to differ
only in the case (say Foo for app1 and foo for app2), whenever I try
to login to app2 the auto-completion feature will always change foo to
Foo. Whether I manually type it in completely or select it from the
dropdown list doesn't make a difference, I'm unable to enter the correct
username and therefore to login. I didn't find any magic combination of
keys to work it around.

I didn't test but I guess the same happens when the two usernames are
used for the same application as well.

[Bug 477887] Re: missing dependencies (installed through software center)

2009-11-12 Thread Olivier Tilloy
IMHO coherence should be a strong dependency of the package
(moovida-plugins-bad).
This is the case in our custom packages built in the Moovida packagers team's
PPA (https://launchpad.net/~moovida-packagers/+archive/ppa). In this PPA,
python-twisted is also a strong dependency of moovida-plugins-bad to work
around http://coherence-project.org/ticket/243.

We should probably try to synchronize the packaging branches (see
https://code.launchpad.net/~moovida-packagers).

[Bug 913885] Re: Custom dash shortcut to desktop file drops Exec args

2012-01-09 Thread Olivier Tilloy
The cause of the issue lies in using g_app_info_get_executable(…) in
combination with g_spawn_command_line_async(…) to launch the application
associated with the desktop file.

The proper way of launching the application is to invoke
g_app_info_launch(…). This will require modifying the way shortcuts are
stored to keep a reference to the desktop file id instead of just the
executable.

[Bug 905139] [NEW] Opening an URL launches the default browser at address %u

2011-12-16 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Public bug reported:

revelation is configured to open URLs using the following command: gnome-open
%U.
According to the source package this is the default configuration (stored in
gconf as /apps/revelation/launcher/website).

When clicking on a URL inside revelation to open it, it launches firefox
(or raises an existing firefox window to the top), but the URL in the
address bar is %u, literally, instead of having been replaced with the
actual URL.

As far as I can remember it used to work in Natty and previous releases,
this is a regression in Oneiric.

[Bug 212789] Re: gvfs fuse mount is not functional after logout and subsequent login

2011-08-18 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I’m seeing this issue in Natty.

It is a fresh install, my home directory is encrypted and it has
annoying consequences, such as Déjà-Dup failing to backup my home
directory because of ~/.gvfs (Transport endpoint is not connected).
And since the .gvfs folder cannot be browsed to, I can’t even add it to
the list of excluded directories in Déjà-Dup (I figured out how to work
around this by manually editing the corresponding GConf key though).

osomon@granuja:~$ LANG=C cd .gvfs
bash: cd: .gvfs: Transport endpoint is not connected

osomon@granuja:~$ mount | grep gvfs
gvfs-fuse-daemon on /home/osomon/.gvfs type fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon
(rw,nosuid,nodev,user=osomon)

Should I re-open this bug, or should I file a new one?

[Bug 894805] [NEW] QT_IMPORTS_DIR is not defined

2011-11-25 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Public bug reported:

When requiring the Qt4 package in a CMakeLists.txt, among the available
variables the one called QT_IMPORTS_DIR should point to where QML
plugins are to be installed (its value would typically be
/usr/lib/qt4/imports).

However with cmake 2.8.5-1ubuntu1 in Oneiric, its value is
QT_IMPORTS_DIR-NOTFOUND as evidenced when running cmake on the
following minimal CMakeLists.txt:

cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 2.8)
find_package(Qt4 REQUIRED)
message(QT_IMPORTS_DIR = ${QT_IMPORTS_DIR})

A quick look at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindQt4.cmake shows that the logic
used to define the value of QT_IMPORTS_DIR queries qmake’s QT_INSTALL_IMPORTS
variable.
On the same machine, the query returns the expected value:

$ qmake -query QT_INSTALL_IMPORTS
/usr/lib/qt4/imports

So the logic to define QT_IMPORTS_DIR in
/usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindQt4.cmake is somehow faulty.
I have tested the above both on x86 and amd64, with the same results.

[Bug 894805] Re: QT_IMPORTS_DIR is not defined

2011-11-28 Thread Olivier Tilloy
It appears that FindQt4.cmake checks if the 'Qt' directory exists in
'/usr/lib/qt4/imports/' path.
On Ubuntu this folder exists only if one of the following QML plugins is
installed:
 - libqt4-declarative-folderlistmodel
 - libqt4-declarative-gestures
 - libqt4-declarative-particles
 - libqt4-declarative-shaders

(thanks to György Balló who pointed this out to me).

It seems incorrect to me to assume that at least one QML plugin should
be installed for the destination path to be defined.

[Bug 856461] Re: cannot set default keyboard layout for unity-greeter

2011-10-31 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I'm also affected by this issue.

This is especially annoying because the greeter doesn't even seem to
respect the same default layout as gnome's.

I regularly switch between two keyboard layouts, and both gnome and the
greeter used to have the same default. Then I changed the default layout
in gnome, but it didn't change in the greeter. Because of bug #834487,
one cannot see which layout is currently being used when entering one's
password, which makes this situation really bad in terms of usability.

[Bug 836498] Re: unity-2d-places crashed with SIGSEGV in QScriptValue::call()

2011-11-09 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I have narrowed down the root cause to setting the source of the pageLoader to
 in the dashView.onActiveChanged handler (dash.qml, line 58).
If I comment out this instruction the crash doesn’t happen. Same if I delay it
by one millisecond using a timer.

There is obviously a race condition at play on the pageLoader or its
children that only manifests itself when the layout is mirrored. I’m
still digging.

[Bug 773987] Re: Timezone is not set correctly for some locations

2011-11-10 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I can confirm the original issue as reported by Ferran is still there in
Oneiric up-to-date: both Barcelona and Sabadell are detected as being in
Africa/Abidjan whereas they really are in Europe/Madrid.

Manually editing the values in com.canonical.indicator.datetime using
dconf-editor works around the issue.

If someone can point me to the relevant source package I’m happy to fix
it and submit a patch, this is a very annoying issue.

[Bug 836498] Re: unity-2d-places crashed with SIGSEGV in QScriptValue::call()

2011-11-16 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I have managed to isolate the bug and to write a simple QML test case that
reproduces it. I filed https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-22776 to
track the issue. This will hopefully be fixed soon in Qt.
In the meantime I think our best option is to delay resetting the loader’s
source by 1 millisecond using a Timer. I’ll make sure this workaround is
documented so that it can be removed in due course when the bug is fixed in Qt.

2011-04-08 Thread Olivier Tilloy
So this issue with gparted appears to be fixed in unity-2d (probably
thanks to the latest update to bamfdaemon I was mentioning above). What
surprises me is that it’s not fixed in unity, despite my test
environment being fully up-to-date.

I’m marking invalid in unity-2d as no specific patch was required there.
It probably needs further investigation to determine why it doesn’t work
in unity.

[Bug 729074] Re: dynamic quicklists are not working

2011-04-08 Thread Olivier Tilloy
I apparently can’t change the status of the bug for unity, but it’s
definitely *not* fixed there. Tested with the latest updates, with
banshee and tomboy, when they are running their quicklists should
contain extra entries exposed by their indicators, but they don’t.

I believe this may be a regression in BAMF that doesn’t seem to expose
indicators anymore.

[Bug 729074] Re: dynamic quicklists are not working

2011-04-08 Thread Olivier Tilloy
To clarify what has been a misunderstanding (thanks Didier for the
explanations): menus exported by applications over indicators are not
shown in the quicklists any more in Natty (they used to be in Maverick),
and this is by design.

However, applications can define custom quicklists using the libunity
API (Déjà Dup for example does it). This is not implemented in unity-2d
yet, and this bug report will track the implementation.

[Bug 662616] Re: drag from dash to launcher

2011-04-11 Thread Olivier Tilloy
@James: they are not merged; we use the same bug report to track the
issue in both projects. If you open the bug in a web browser, you will
notice that the status of the bug for unity-2d is still Triaged,
meaning we are aware it’s not fixed there.

@Joaquín: unfortunately Launchpad doesn’t allow to filter bug-mail on a
project basis, so you are also receiving status updates even if the
changes affect only unity, not unity-2d. That’s unfortunate. However you
don’t need to systematically confirm that it is still valid in unity-2d,
unless the status is incorrect. Look for the ** Changed in: … line at
the end of the e-mails to know which project a given status update
concerns. Even though we try hard to keep synchronization with unity, if
a bug report is marked Confirmed or Triaged for unity-2d, then we
are aware it’s not fixed yet.
