I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 (Beta + updates). The USB-audio does not seem
to work at all. When I try to test the audio (from gnome) I get the
following error message: audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert
! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink:.
Then the message continues with a finnish message
I did some further testing. It all depends on what devices are selected:
Playback:
Logitech Logitech USB Speaker USB Audio (ALSA) does not work
ALSA - Advanced Sound Architecture works
Mixer:
Playback: ALSA PCM on front: 1 (USB Audio) via DMA hotkeys works

With newest Ubuntu 8.10 (as far as I tested) the white background noice
is gone. So, the sound quality is much better now.

I have a macbook running ubuntu Gutsy, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP
Sun Oct 14 21:45:15 GMT 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
When I try to transfer files with scp over the network, the transfer
hangs (after a minute or so) and the whole network interface goes down
and then it gets

Hi,
I am not exactly sure how should I produce relevant debug information. I
produced backtrace with gdb using SSH-method. I attached Xorg process to
GDB and then run backtrace full -command.
Unfortunatey if I run continue (as stated in instruction) in gdb, the
gdb would not let me to enter
I don't think X crashes. It just freezes (or freezes mouse/keyboard)
until the java process (or other OpenGL application) is forcefully
killed. That is, if I use ssh-session to kill OpenGL app, the X starts
to work again.

Hi,
I don't have desktop effects in use. Crash happens even if I haven't
sustended my machine earlier.
By crash I mean screen going black and after that Gdm screen appears and I can
log in again. I think X server just dies (because libglx.so experiences a
segmentation fault?)

Hi,
Unfortunately the bug still seems to occur after all. However, it occurs
very rarely, perhaps once or twice in a day.
Because the bug occurs now so rarely (not every time, as it did before)
it is not a show stopper for me anymore.

I have wippies ADSL-box, which can use USB-drive as a SMB network share.
I am trying to use my wippes network share from ubuntu 10.04, but I keep

I have macbook (model 2,1). When I close macbook lid, the display
backlight is turned off. However, if I move mouse (lid is closed) the
backlight is turned on.
Laptop display shouldn't be turned on when lid is closed.

I upgraded to Lucid. I am not able to reproduce the problem with Lucid,
Lucid seems to work fine!
