Same situation here where there was no problem with Dapper Drake, but
with feisty the latex generated pdf had ugly fonts when rendered by
evince. It was rendered fine with Adobe reader. Also installing
msttcorefont does not alleviate the symptom.

I have the same problem with Fedora 12 (updated, kernel
2.6.31.6-166.fc12.i686.PAE) on the hp compaq elitebook 2530p.
It seems to be working better after adding the parameter nomodeset at
the end of the kernel line in /boot/grub/grub.conf.
It also seems to have solved some small graphic issues

playing audio, rithmbox will inhibit screensaver (or at least

Running Unity from terminal yields this;

Checking if internal files need to be migrated ...no

Adding
I reinstalled natty without disk encryption and using catalyst 11.5 driver and
I'm not able to reproduce this anymore.
I suspect that the issue might be related to the passphrase prompt.
Just a note: for me that happened more than once until X started
properly on VT7.

touchpad using Fn+F5:
