It seems that moving the ib_logfile* wasn't enough, neither was to put
the binary logs out of the way.
So in the end I just rm -rf ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data then let it
recreate itself.
Therafter I don't have any MySQL errors anymore (for now...) but I get a

Confirming bug is here on Plymouth 0.8.1-1ubuntu3 and EeePC 1005PE

I've seen it on several machines and it involved issues with Amarok, not
a previously aborted upgrade. Anyway this happened while upgrading
Hardy = Intrepid and didn't show up in newer Ubuntu releases, so I

usplash may ot may not display startup splash correctly depending upon
the resolution to which it's been set in usplash.conf (1024x768=OK,
1920x1080=No Splash, text boot) but the shutdown splash screen (after X
has ran at 1920x1080)
I suffer from this bug in Karmic, and have noticed that powerdevil is
extremely slow shitfing profiles when system on battery, and does it at
normal speed when system on AC power.

Bug purposely affected to mountall, please do not reaffect this bug to
cryptsetup - There's already a cryptsetup bug discussing this issue
(#475936), but this issue (most probably) needs to be fixed mainly in
mountall, not cryptsetup (unless the contrary can be demonstrated
otherwise than silently
Negative, Scott. I have tested this thouroughly and an encrypted /tmp IS
PROPERLY configured and formated by cryptsetup, BUT NOT MOUNTED by
mountall.
If I just type mount -a once the system is finished booting, the
encrypted /tmp will actually mount. Everytime.
So it's not an issue with

Answer to comment 9 : As far as I understood, the latest cryptsetup fix
(currently in karmic-proposed), which I have installed on my system
(and that didn't help), is for fixing the issue you discuss. It creates
the encrypted temp under a temporary device
Also one thing that made me file this bug under mountall is that
cryptsetup-encrypted /tmp has worked for me for many previous Ubuntu
version and suddently fails after upgrading to Karmic.
I don't believe that cryptsetup was much changed between Jaunty and
Karmic, while the system startup

Testing karmic-proposed cryptsetup (2:1.0.6+20090405.svn49-1ubuntu7.1) :
Still doesn't solve the issue with encrypted /tmp not mounting at boot.
(Encrypted swap with random key and encrypted /home with fixed key-file
do work, as previously).
So that's a proposed fix doesn't change or improve
I ran mountall with logging (per Steve's request on comment #15) by
calling mountall (in mountall.conf) with :
exec mountall --daemon -v $force_fsck $fsck_fix $tmptime
/dev/.mountall.log
The matter is that 1st time I rebooted with that I ended up with...
encrypted /tmp properly mounted !

Confirming this bug on 2 machines with Kubuntu Karmic, all updates
applied.
DHCP will define our DSL box as DNS server, although it's dreadfully
slow resolving requests. If trying to override that by setting manually
the ISP's DNS server in knetworkmanager, the setting is ignored and the
