Actually it's still not back to normal. I still can't do anything with any of the icons on my desktop. The boxes are still there (but looking pretty). I can use the panel/taskbar applets and menu's tho and i'm able to switch between the different desktops and between open applications. --

Hopefully there's tons of junk in temp folders (be careful tho) or files starting with a ~ sign that you might be allowed to delete (without destroying the Windows boot, hopefully). Personally i'd recommend forcing yourself to stay in Linux by losing the Windows System files, just gradually
