I tried with gcc 4.3 and gcc snapshot. I have the same problem 'internal
compiler error: Segmentation fault' but for other version it's not at the same
file.

part but the bug #448811 prevent using the box.

With gfxmode=1440x900x32 (my native resolution) and gfxpayload=keep everything

I have same problem with a Dell Latitude C540.
I solved the problem by comment this following line in
/boot/grub/grub.cfg:

Somehow the problem disappeared once I edited /etc/default/hal by adding
the --verbose=yes option to the daemon. And then the problem did stay
away when removing the --verbose=yes.

I can confirm this bug on my Dell Vostro 1710 running Jaunty
(2.6.28-11-{generic,server}).
It occurs only once on every boot, when GDM starts (and thus does its
prefetch), provoking a ~30s blank screen with heavy disk activity before the
login screen.

My understanding is that the SVG support is provided by Firefox itself
since version 1.5. The fact that we require a plugin to make it work now
and the fact that there is no plugin for Firefox for SVG is all
originating from the fact that the native SVG support seems to be

I noticed this as well, with my UM150 and reverting to the 2.6.27.9 kernel
allows for the device to work again.
I tried on a co-workers Fedora 10 box w/ 2.6.27.12 and it had the same error I
was seeing on mine. We also tried his ATT Aircard and it also did not work.

Here is a workaround that worked for me ( who uses a Logitech Mouse.)
But I think it will occur with ANY mouse !
I identified that hciconfig reported that hci0 interface was RUNNING
but NOT SCANNING
I tried sudo hciconfig hci0 pscan
Then... it works until reboot.
So I inserted hciconfig hci0
This issue no longer exists with Ubuntu-8.10-desktop-amd64.iso.
