I think the motive was good: make it more discoverable.
but those 2 seconds go extremely fast...
i know where it is and even i miss it (yes even by staring at it).
the problem is when a window opens people focus their eyes on the window
and not the top bar. When they focus the top bar the 2
i like it.
now the only thing that doesnt match with the rest is the top panel.
Gladly there is now an option for panel opacity auto-toggle for
maximized windows.

Power settings in Oneiric seem to be missing a Lot of options.
you cant avoid hibernating/suspending anymore when you close the lid.
this is really bad, specially when you are connected in AC power
downloading updates or an ISO image and it stops the download and goes
into sleep...

if the installation takes several minutes i dont want it to interrupt

While LIM is a great advancement to solving this bug, but some people
don't seem convinced yet.
