The issue has been resolved. After the upgrade for some reason grub2
wasn't installed properly and the new kernel didn't get updated to the
grub2 config. After installing grub2 again the kernel list was updated
and the system booted into the correct kernel which then resolved the

On my clean install of 9.10 the pc speaker is blacklisted by default. To
me this appears to be the 'fix' that the developers put it. The shutdown
beeps were very annoying on 9.04 but blacklisting the pc speaker is NOT
the right solution, or a solution at all. This 'solution' breaks some of

may be an intermediate C/C++ programmer, without some expert guidance
I'm afraid I am lost. Best I can do is point out that this 'workaround'
does break an accessibility feature. And I know that Canonical is proud

HDF5 ships with a standard set of Fortran interfaces, defined in .mod
files (the equivalent of C include files). One example is "hdf5.mod".
The HDF5 package, however, doesn't seem to install these files anywhere.
It's hard (and unsafe) for users to try to download those sep
I have been using CtrlX, CtrlV but it's not always convenient. I think Excel
users will miss this feature severely

I guess I'm just adding my two cents here, trying to get this bug
noticed. I'm having the same issue, and so is a co-worker who runs
pretty much the same setup. If I run windows on my current setup, no
problem. Jaunty just seems to be very slow when copying large files
between the internal SATA dri
hich would not show up if Windows XP was on the same HDD as Linux. After
all Linux won't run unless the HDD that is on is mounted, and so Windows is
mounted too.

I applied the fix from comment #6 here, which got me past line 40. But
I now get an error at line 45 and labyrinth won't launch. I am using
Jaunty 9.04, with python2.6 and Labyrinth 0.4.0-0Ubuntu1 (jaunty)

To be honest i don't think there's much point in posting a bug-report
about this since so little effort is made to address peoples bug-reports
about launchpad. Why is it being developed in ways people haven't asked
for without even bothering to look at what people that use the system

about launchpad and notice that they are mostly in "Triage" which sounds
like much more progress than i thought.
