FWIW, Debian testing (Squeeze) now also has the latest 32 stable

Public bug reported:
I'm running AMD64 version of Karmic in an up-to-date Parallels VM.
The shutdown procedure fails at the very last step: Power down,
requiring manual stopping of the VM. I'm also running a Debian testing

This is not really a bug, or it may be a different sort of bug.

Public bug reported:
Users wishing to install Ubuntu in a VMware Fusion VM have a need for
VMware Tools, including a set of kernel modules that must be compiled
for the running kernel. One way to do this is with the open-vm-source,
-tools, and -toolbox packages that are present in Debian testing
earlier in the day, must have overlooked them. All's well that ends
well, no? Thanks for setting me straight.

I replaced the IDE dvd/cd-drive with a new SATA drive, then tried to

Binary package hint: gnome-keyring-manager
Several programmes in Edgy (like Evolution) make use of gnome-keyring or

I experience a similar problem in 64-bit Edgy Beta (+ a few days worth of
