hi i'm using kubuntu. my wifi card rt61pci chipset has worked fine since
release of 8.04 kubuntu but yesterday there was a kernel update to
2.6.24-18, and now knetwork manager won't connect. it can see the wifi
connections but when i click on my home one it gets to 57% and the

the sun to install it manually and it just won't work for me. it
installs but x fails. i've removed restricted driver manager and
followed people's advice but it won't work. i get some weird no valid

ok i blacklisted the 3 modules built in kernel and installed the rt61
legacy driver from serialmonkey and now internet is reliable as should
be, also wireless signal strength is better too.
roaming mode no longer works though so had to do manual network
configuration.

only connected five mins or whatever at at time, i get random connection
loss, it's intermittent, sometimes it just comes back sometimes it's off

it seems to be sites that use a lot of ajax/javascript that cause the
CPU to hit the roof. if you have the same problem as me, going here

saying that though i've tried using nv in xorg.conf instead of nvidia,
or nvidia-glx whatever. just putting nv, and i still get the occasional
freeze, although it does seem to be a bit less frequent...

hi i also have had lots of freezes lockups especially with nvidia driver
in xorg.conf, it i change it to nv it works better, but stil the lockups
and freezes come occasionally. so does this mean it's not just the
nvidia-glx driver that's got a bug but also the nv one also...??

Hi I have Gutsy AMD64 which autodetected my Canon ip4000 printer, which
i was pleased about as previously i've had to use Turboprint. Anyway i
tried printing photos from gimp, pdf viewer, photo viewer, openoffice
and a few other apps and couldn't get one to give me a print out
Well, I fixed my problem. As I time went on, I continued to see more
programs segfaulting. When wine segfaulted it gave me a nice backtrace
which led me to believe the problem was in libc6. I used apt-get to
reinstall libc6 and now everything works fine.
