Guess I am banished to the land of Windows Outlook till this thing blows over. I downloaded the e-e 2.24.3 source and tried to compile ... but to compile I need to install a whole bunch of development packages for all the evolution components .. too much trouble to install all those on my work machine. I guess the e-e update will be available very soon. Well, i havent had any probs recently. One important thing is to make sure the NIC is connected when you shutdown Windows (if you have). This is a known issue that Windows puts the NIC is sleep mode when shutting down the system. You may also want to download the driver and recompile if nothing works. HI, I already tried the b43 drivers also in 7.10. Never worked properly. Well ... I am actually facing IP issues with eth0 also as described. IP assignment is successful only when eth0 is connected during boot up. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/79626 Same issue - DHCPREQ goes out ... server responds with DHCPACK (confirmed by looking at the log on the DHCP server), my system never gets it unless I do some jumping through the hoops for both wirelss and wired connections ... all drivers. I can confirm the problem in the latest Hardy x86. If crossfade is enabled, the sound becomes choppy instead of the more annoying clicking/snapping/crackling. I tried it before deciding to install ndiswrapper. The connection does not beyond 6 Mbps even when I sit next to the AP. I checked in my office and it connects without a problem. But I need to check at home as well since the behavior differs based on wired ethernet being connected or not at boot time. For ex: my NIC works when I connect the cable during boot up. But if I connect it after boot, it does not. I will send another email once I am home. Ok, here are the observations with b43 driver b43 loads and sees access points. But the number of access points seen with b43 are much less than ndiswrapper. ex: with ndiswrapper, i can see 10 APs but with b43 I can see only my own, just one. However, no IP can be obtained on wlan0. I did not go through the steps I mentioned above to get an IP. When I unload b43 and do the above steps, I see all APs and can get IP by following above procedure. Hence I guess the problem is not with the wlan driver but the DHCP. OK ... really starting to affect my productivity. Last two times, I was not able to get IP no matter what I did. Here is the only way I can get an IP: 1) connect the NIC 2) boot up 3) I get IP on both wlan and eth0 regardless of the driver I use if eth0 is connected. I have to reboot to Vista to get my work done. [Bug 200696] [NEW] cannot get IP via DHCP
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager I had this problem with 7.10 and RealTek 8111 NIC. The driver would load and send out DHCP requests. The server would respond with an IP but the system would never get the IP successfully. There is an active thread on Launchpad. I forgot how I fixed it. Now I see the same problem with Hardy and ndiswrapper for my Broadcom BCM 4318. I never had problems with ndiswrapper and this NIC in 7.10. Now I have to unload ssb, ohci_hcd, ndiswrapper and then load ndiswrapper as explained on an active bug in Launchpad. Now Network Manager sees the wireless adapter but can never get the IP. wlan0 is always in link not ready even with the pulser going on and on trying to get an IP. The only way I can get it to get an IP is as follows: 1. Goto manual config 2. Hi, I fixed update-manger package later and did an update again and it is alright now. However, the install process was not smooth. Update of update-manager failed during the update process. After fixing the packages, update, upgrade wen through fine. Would you still like this output? I face the following problem: I have installed emacs and some other packages to go along with emacs these were installed and soon after the installation was complete Adept crashed attached below is the backlog generated. Another observation to go along with this is that soon after the crash I restarted Adept and tried installing other packages, and observed that the packages are downloaded but after 27-37% of installation the Adept reports There is an error committing. I discovered that the volume control is affecting only the output on headphone jack but not the laptop speakers. So, I would say it is working but not in the right way. I installed 704 on Asus Z92M with Realtek 8111/8168 PCIe card. The live CD also doesnt make the network work. It loads r8169 module but wired connection is greyed out. Finalyl I loaded r1000 driver and link is detected etc but doesnt get an IP from a DHCP. The DHCP server hands out the IP but the IP doesnt get assigned to the interface. The Application evolution-2.6 has quit unexpectedly.
an i get the choices of
1. restarting the application
2. Close
3. Inform developers
Steps to reproduce the crash:
File-import
opens-(Evolution Import Assistant)
Forward
opens-(Importer Type)
Choose-(Import a Single File)
opens-(Select a File)
Under
Filename
Browse to smb://192.168.1.3/email
{
where 192.168.1.3 is the IP of a windows Server2003 server.
email is the share name where the pst files are stored
pst files-Files used by Microsoft Outlook 2003 to store user information
similar to profiles in thuinderbird, only thing is that this file is a single
file where all the data is stored.
}
In this location choose abhi.pst
{
where abhi.pst is the file where Outlook 2003 stores all my mails, settings ,
accoutn information (etc)
}
Now that we have choosen the file,
Press open
Expected Results:
The Application evolution-2.6 has quit unexpectedly.
How often does this happen?
Every time i try to import the file mentioned above - (abhi.pst)
