[Bug 1682927] Re: lubuntu-rc.xml config breaks focusNew config
Tested in 24.04. Issue is the same as before: the new GUI setting has no effect on new windows taking focus, just like before. E.g. hit F4 from pcmanfm and the terminal will steal focus. (I noticed that starting pcmanfm from a terminal focuses pcmanfm no matter what state the rc.xml is in. Not sure if this is different from before.) If you set the GUI preference to not focus new apps, _and_ you remove the section at the end of rc.xml, then openbox --reconfigure, then it works as expected, but users will not know this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1682927 Title: lubuntu-rc.xml config breaks focusNew config To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1682927/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1682927] Re: lubuntu-rc.xml config breaks focusNew config
Thanks -- regardless of the usefulness of the setting, the bigger issue is that if you go to Preferences -> Openbox Configuration Manager -> Windows and uncheck "Focus new windows when they appear" it has no effect, because of this section. I just tested the behavior when that section is removed, and as the ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml file implies, hitting F4 in pcmanfm will open a terminal without changing focus to it, despite focusNew being set to "Yes", so I understand the motivation there. But maybe this is a bug in openbox or pcmanfm that could be addressed? Or, if that is the only known reason for using the section, perhaps it could be narrowed to lxterminal. It just feels a little unfinished, and confuses users like myself. :-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1682927 Title: lubuntu-rc.xml config breaks focusNew config To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1682927/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1682927] [NEW] lubuntu-rc.xml config breaks focusNew config
Public bug reported: At the end of ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml is this small section: yes ...the problem is that this overrides the value of focusNew, set far at the beginning of the file, making it appear as if focusNew does nothing. The same thing happens if you open the GUI openbox configuration manager and uncheck Windows -> "Focus new windows when they appear" -- the setting is ignored. I'm not sure why it's useful to use that override, but it seems like a better solution should be found. [Bug 1652753] [NEW] jackdbus takes 100% of a core when interface is turned off
Public bug reported: I have jackdbus running successfully (via qjackctl) in Kubuntu 16.10 with a Scarlett 18i8 USB interface. If I turn the interface off, jackdbus will usually (not always -- I think I may need to have played audio at least once?) jump to 100% CPU usage (of a single core) and stay there indefinitely. I can kill the jack processes, turn the interface back on, and restart the processes, and things are fine again. When the CPU usage happens, I see so further output in .log/jack/jackdbus.log Judging by jackdbus.log, I think I have "Controller" version 1.9.11: Tue Dec 27 01:52:41 2016: Controller activated. [Bug 1596344] [NEW] pulseaudio causes long login delay waiting for bluetooth
Public bug reported: Kubuntu 16.04 -- I was experiencing a long delay when logging in, on the order of 20+ seconds. After entering the password on the splash screen, it would stay there before showing the desktop. journalctl revealed a timeout form pulseaudio waiting for a bluetooth service (I don't not use bluetooth, and it is disabled, but I believe I saw this even when I enabled it?) Jun 26 10:43:42 machinename org.kde.KScreen[1988]: kscreen: Primary output changed from KScreen::Output(Id: 68 , Name: "HDMI1" ) ( "HDMI1" ) to KScreen::Output(Id: 68 , Name: "HDMI1" ) ( "HDMI1" ) Jun 26 10:44:02 machinename dbus[982]: [system] Failed to activate service 'org.bluez': timed out Jun 26 10:44:02 machinename pulseaudio[2121]: [pulseaudio] bluez5-util.c: GetManagedObjects() failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. I can fix the problem by editing /etc/pulse/default.pa and commenting out both bluetooth lines ("load-module module-bluetooth-policy" and "load-module module-bluetooth-discover" -- not sure if both are actually necessary.) I have seen other bugs relating to blocking calls to bluetooth causing problems.
