[Bug 1750051] Re: cron doesn't support MAILFROM
Another issue with this is that setting the "From:" header to "root (Cron daemon)" makes it difficult to forward this mail outside of the system. [Bug 1706499] Re: NMI Watchdog Soft Lockup CPU Frozen for 22s
This is a fresh installation on a freshly built system, so I can't say if a prior kernel did/would've worked. I've reinstalled twice from different downloads, and via different media and have encountered the same issues. I installed Windows 10 as well, and encountered no issues with performance or stability over the week/week and a half I had it installed, so I don't think it's hardware. I'll install the upstream kernel and test again tonight. Thanks for helping. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1706499 Title: NMI Watchdog Soft Lockup CPU Frozen for 22s To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1706499/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1706499] [NEW] NMI Watchdog Soft Lockup CPU Frozen for 22s
Private bug reported: Whenever switching from high to low, or low to high CPU loads I encounter the attached lockup. This happens at least twice daily when the server is left alone, more often when it actually does anything. Same exact problem, but different kernel. `hdparm -Y /dev/sdb` worked on 2.6.28-11-generic, but I just updated to 2.6.28-13-generic and I am getting the same behavior as described above. -- hard disk will not spin down by hdparm or sdparm https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359513 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 162788] Re: Request for explicit warnings/messages on package transitions b/n releases
It was still an issue as of 8.04. I have not yet upgraded to 8.10, however this is not something that would resolve itself. So unless someone worked on this, I'm sure it's still a problem. -- Request for explicit warnings/messages on package transitions b/n releases https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162788 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 199575] Re: nm unable to connect after editing wireless network profile
I second this error. Setting 'AES-CCMP' on initial connect results in a blank Type in the wireless networks configuration utility. Also (I don't know if this is a bug and/or related), but checking show password in the wireless networks configuration utility shows a long (hex?) string instead of the plaintext password. [Bug 199575] Re: nm unable to connect after editing wireless network profile

[Bug 199575] Re: nm unable to connect after editing wireless network profile
sorry to flood the comments... just trying to add some more (hopefully helpful) info... I have tried setting `wpa_psk_key_mgt` manually through gconf-editor. In the attached syslog, the first part is what happens if I set the field to '0' (auto) or '8' (aes-ccmp), then you can see me change it to '2' (wpa-psk, i think) and reconnecting. wireless 'nic': 0c:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN Network Connection (rev 61) iwl4896 driver router is a buffalo whr-g54s running tomato firmware w/ wireless security set to 'WPA2 Personal (PSK) + AES' hope this helps. ** Attachment added: syslog http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13913879/syslog -- nm unable to connect after editing wireless network profile https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199575 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 218499] [NEW] after fsck, bootchart - rsvg-convert makes computer slow
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bootchart ubuntu = 7.10 (gutsy) package = bootchart 0.9-0ubuntu7 related bug = 204186 /etc/init.d/stop-bootchart uses rsvg (rsvg-convert) to convert the generated SVG file into a PNG image. Usually this is fairly transparent. However, when fsck runs at boot, the resulting SVG apparently has a lot of information, because it takes a very long time for rsvg-convert to finish, and the resulting PNG image has a much larger filesize than usual. During the conversion process, rsvg-convert takes up 90% cpu and ram, turning the whole machine to sludge. If svg conversion is not removed (as proposed in 204186), then this should be addressed. ** Affects: bootchart (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- after fsck, bootchart - rsvg-convert makes computer slow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218499 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 164709] Re: gmplayer fails to play a file whose filename contains spaces
This bug also occurs for filenames that actually have %20 strings instead of spaces. So attempting to open either some file.xxx or some%20file.xxx by double-clicking in Nautilus results in the error message: failed to open file:///some%20file.xxx. I wonder if this is a Nautilus issue, because the following commands issued from a terminal work just fine: $ gmplayer some\ file.xxx $ gmplayer some%20file.xxx -- gmplayer fails to play a file whose filename contains spaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164709 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 162788] Request for explicit warnings/messages on package transitions b/n releases
Public bug reported: I guess I am not allowed to mark this as a wish-list item, but that is what this is. From one release to the next, some packages are dropped completely, some are simply renamed, and some are dropped, but replaced with a different package. I would like to request a more explicit way to notify the user of these changes. For example, in Edgy (or Dapper), there was a package called gXMMS -- a simple applet that allowed xmms control from a Gnome panel. During the next version upgrade, that package simply disappeared. I had to search all over the web until I found that in this updated release, I had to install Playground (+ xmms plugin) for the same functionality. It would have been much nicer if during the upgrade I received a message such as: gXMMS is obsolete and is going to be uninstalled. However, there is a different application called Playground that can do the same thing. Would you like to install Playground? During the upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy, I had to resort to Google (again) to figure out where GAIM went, what is Pidgin, and why is Pidgin messing with my GAIM files. Again, a simple heads up of GAIM is now known as Pidgin; all of your files and configurations will be kept intact during this transition. would have saved me time and stress. I'm sure there are other examples, but I hope these illustrate my point well enough. Thanks in advance =) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Request for explicit warnings/messages on package transitions b/n releases https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162788 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
