[Bug 2064077] [NEW] Overridding Left and Right do not work
Public bug reported: Hello, I just installed Ubuntu 24.4 and set my favourite keyboard shortcuts. I want to use Super+Left and Super+Right to navigate between workspaces. [Bug 1880864] Re: networkmanager IKE VPN connection causes DNS leak
As a workaround, I placed the following script in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/02-vpnupdown location. It will restart systemd-resolved service everytime you bring up a vpn connection allowing to use as current dns the one provided by the vpn. I tried to send a SIGRTMIN+1 signal to systemd-resolve to flush dns server but it randomly have the desired effect by cli but never by a script triggered by a vpn-up event from network-manager. On vpn-down event, dns configuration is fine so I won't restart the service to avoid restarting it too often. Hope this will help someone while this issue is being fixed. #!/bin/bash STATUS=$2 case "$STATUS" in 'vpn-up') systemctl restart systemd-resolved;; esac -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880864 Title: networkmanager IKE VPN connection causes DNS leak To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1880864/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1880864] [NEW] networkmanager IKE VPN connection causes DNS leak
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Release:20.04 network-manager: Installé : 1.22.10-1ubuntu1 Candidat : 1.22.10-1ubuntu1 Table de version : *** 1.22.10-1ubuntu1 500 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Connecting to a IPSEC IKE VPN does not update correctly update systemd-resolve dns parameters: DNS provided by the VPN tunnel is seen by systemd-resolve but not use to resolve dns queries resulting to a DNS leak. I tried to play with network manager priority which as no effect: default setting seems to be fine as the dns provided by the vpn appears on top of dns list provided by "systemd-resolve --status" result bellow. I found out a way to get it working by restarting systemd-resolve service after the vpn connection is established. I think (pure speculation, I don't know how systemd-resolve works) systemd-resolve evaluate which dns use, the one provided by the vpn is the first one then it decide to use it. This evaluation should be triggered when tunnel is bringed up. Bringing up an IPSEC IKE VPN does not create a new interface, it will use the same used by the default network interface where is configured the gateway. I think a fix would be to find out a way to triggered the dns election of systemd-resolve to update the "Current DNS Server". Maybe it is a bug with systemd-resolve but as I don't know how everything work together, I choose to report this here. You will find my network manager config for this particular ipsec tunnel bellow. [Bug 1874996] Re: no menu, filter and preference in thunderber since update to ubuntu 20.04
My answer by email did not worked. I do not have any access to preferences (no menu at all), so I can not disable extensions. But I can remove the extensions in the profile directory. It is not enough. I have finally solved the bug, creating a new profile, copying back the mails and editing the prefs.js to restore mail and calendar accounts. [Bug 783220]
A sidenote about the *E2GPSCTL parameters. According to thinkwiki, the 3rd parameter may be used to activate the DGPS feature. However, when I set this value (AT*E2GPSCTL=1,5,1 for example), I notice that : 1/ the stream is refreshed every second, and not every 5 seconds (as it works when just setting AT*E2GPSCTL=1,5) 2/ some spurious or blank lines, not starting with $GP are interleaved in the regular NMEA stream (from /dev/ttyACM2). These lines look like the characters of the end of previous NMEA sentences, quite strange. Firmware bug? 3/ no DGPS information appears in the NMEA $GPGGA sentences, even after a 3D fix is successfully obtained. According to http://aprs.gids.nl/nmea/#gga the DGPS information should appear in the last two fields of the $GPGGA string. But I may be in a location where DGPS stations are out-of-reach. So, at the difference of the wiki that suggests to setup the GPS using "AT*E2GPSCTL=1,5,1", I prefer to use the command "AT*E2GPSCTL=1,5" instead. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/783220 Title: [needs-packaging] Missing packages for mbm-gpsd and mbm-gps-control To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/modemmanager/+bug/783220/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 783220]
Created attachment 114525 mbm: add GPS location gathering support This patch add gps support for mbm devices, mainly inspired by the huawai similar plugin. The interval between two batches of NMEA sentences is set arbitrarily to 5 secs with a #define (ModemManager updates the gps location every 30 seconds on dbus, so it seems to me there's no need to request nmea data too frequently). The mbm device particularity is that the gps nmea device ttyACM2 must receive the command "AT*E2GPSNPD" before starting to emit data.

[Bug 1307778] Re: getent group on trusty returns only local groups
For all those stuck with this issue. There's a real alternative to winbind, sssd. The following guide should get you started: https://fedorahosted.org/sssd/wiki/Configuring_sssd_with_ad_server Using the "realm" command is especially easy. Once a getent passwd administra...@domain.name returns something useful, this can easily be integrated with samba, without using winbind. The smb.conf should then include security = ads realm = GE.LAN kerberos method = secrets and keytab in its [global] section. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307778 Title: getent group on trusty returns only local groups To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1307778/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1307778] Re: getent group on trusty returns only local groups
The solution I posted above is NOT stable. After some time, getent group only returns local groups again. [Bug 1307778] Re: getent group on trusty returns only local groups
Sorry, the "I" before the [Global] section in my previous comment is of course a typo, it should not be there. To futher get a bit of context here: I had this server running without problems on ubuntu server 12.04 and upgraded to 14.04.1 LTS using do-release-upgrade. This is when getent group stopped working. So I guess something has changed in winbindd_idmap.tdb? I also switched from he old idmap syntax which is now deprecated: idmap uid = 1-2 idmap gid = 1-2 to the new syntax: idmap config * : backend = tdb idmap config * : range = 16777216-33554431 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307778 Title: getent group on trusty returns only local groups To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1307778/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1173483] Re: dhclient segfaults on interfaces it can not handle
The problem exists in version ISC 4.3 but it does not generate segfault but a message : Unsupported device type 512 for "ppp0" in syslog. The problem has been solved by a patch in fedora (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=626514). Are you sure this condition is meaningful ? - gnome is not the only WM. Is the problem related to gnome only ? - people are free to install the tools they want. E.g. most people I know desinstalled Unity to get a more standard interface. -> we have to be sure that a bug is obsolette even for installs differing to "Ubuntu fresh out of the box". Moreover, I understand that the bug was due to both an abnormal "emission" by the lib and a lack of proper testing by thunderbird. Hi, This was intentional, but to be honest with you, I should have created a "python-wxgtk-media2.8" package for the dependency on media instead of dropping it completly. For Ubuntu, it should be enough to disable the patch disable_media_python.patch and rebuild the package to have a working python package. What happens is that if I open a terminal window and hit the tab key or backspace key the whole system freezes. ctrl-alt-del doesn't work. I have to turn the power off. This happens also if I don't login to gnome but go directly to tty1 (ctrl-alt-F1), login and hit tab or backspace. However, luckily for me since I don't know how to downgrade, this only happens if I choose kernel 2.6.24-16-generic when I start the computer. If I choose 2.4.22-14-generic I can hit tab and backspace all I want and the system just keeps on running fine. I don't even know the difference between the two, so for me it's the same. However, someone might be interested in why this happens. I upgraded from Gutsy 7.whatever (I don't know). I'm running on a LG LM70 Express. Here is the procedure for the output of the attached dmesg-file. I restarted my computer, chose kernel 2.6, hit ctrl-alt-F1, logged in, hit backspace (everything froze), held down the powerbutton for a poweroff, started the computer hit ctrl-alt-F1, logged in dmesg ps. I accidently posted this on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4841746&posted=1#post4841746 but I learnt that launchpad is the more proper place for posting of this sort. [Bug 411358]
Hi guys. I came here BTWof the author of a linkifyer extension for thunderbird. I must say I'm a bit afraid by what I read in this discussions. - '+' IS a legal character for files in unix. - svn+ssh: IS an extremely important url for developpers (+ forges often go with mailing-lists). - I might be naive, but this bug sounds to me as the classical forgetting to protect a string by "" despites it might possibly contains spaces or special characters (important for FS pathes as well as plenty other kinds of strings). - It seems unreasonable to me to decide that the problem will end with the new UbuntuLTS: - gnome3 has plainty of problems and bugs, and it is likely that "real computer" (ie, not tablets) user will replace it by anything else, eg, gnome2. - existing code might still be used under 12.04LTS (some people in CS, research and engineering do have to ensure backward compatibility, sometimes even for binaries). - I guess many people will stuck with 10.04LTS even after march. As I understand it from this discussion, there are 2 identified bugs: one in gnome2 (the probably forgoten "") which must be fixed by this community, and one in thunderbird (about the popup - or before thunderbird, about the error status) for which the thunderbird community just have to release a built using --disable-gio . Any of the 2 solutions is sufficient to fix the problem, even if it would be better to fix both. -> could you please do this thunderbird release, and forward the gnome bug to the gnome community ? thanks. Hi, To update the package, the easiest way, IMHO, is to run the following commands: - get the source with apt-get source fceux - get latest tarball by running uscan --verbose from inside the source directory - Apply the diff to the new tarball with the command: uupdate ../ - Change to the new directory: cd ../fceux-2.2.0 - Review the changelog in debian/changelog - Build the source with debuild -S - Testbuild the new version If you prefer, I can take the action and work on it by the end of the week. Hi, I uploaded in the dvdstyler-maintainer stable ppa a 2.3 version that support mplex multiplexing. Could you please test it, enabling multiplexing menus with mplex previously? Hi, Actually, I don't see it in the list of themes, neither with Gnome classic nor with Unity... but that may be because I do something wring: I go to System settings / appearance, but in -theme, I only see adwaita, ambiance, radiance and high contraste. [Bug 1065665] Re: Sync mediathekview 3.0.0-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
synced: mediathekview (3.0.0-1) unstable; urgency=low * New Maintainer. * New upstream release. (Closes: #647843) - Restores the ability to download new lists of films automatically. (Closes: #681680) * debian/control: - Remove superfluous build dependency on quilt. - Remove recommendation for mplayer-nogui because mplayer has replaced it nowadays. Now either VLC or MPlayer are the recommended video players. - Fix typos in the package description. (Closes: #625704) - Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.4, no changes needed. - New dependency libcommons-lang3-java replaces libcommons-lang-java. - Remove dependency on librome-java because upstream discontinued the support for podcasts. - New upstream requirement for the build system is Ant >=1.8.0. * debian/rules: - Remove quilt flag for dh to be in line with debian/control changes. - Change the CLASSPATH accordingly to the changes in debian/control. * Ant build system: - Switch to the new Ant build system provided by upstream. - Replace add-ant-build-xml.patch with 01_modify_ant_build_system.patch which adjusts the CLASSPATH environment. * Update README.source and describe the steps to obtain the upstream sources. * Update debian/copyright to the machine-readable copyright format 1.0. * debian/mediathekview.1: - Update the man page and remove entries of options which are unsupported at the moment. * debian/mediathekview.doc-base: - Replace mediathekview.pdf with Anleitung.pdf. - Add this short manual again because now upstream provides the source for it.
