[Bug 1943582] [NEW] pipenv: update from 11.9 to an usable version

2021-09-14 Thread Rafael Varela Pet
Public bug reported:

pipenv 11.9 dates back to Mar 21, 2018
(https://pypi.org/project/pipenv/#history) and this causes a lot of
troubles with modern software. For example:
https://github.com/SigmaHQ/pySigma/issues/15

There's a bug at Debian opened back in November, 2019 for the same
reason.

Please, upgrade to an usable version. Thanks in advance.

present (just for the record, I know this bug is still open, there's no
surprise)

2017-08-13 Thread peT
Archlinux user here, I get the same error message under 4.12.4-1-ARCH, so this
bug is not Ubuntu-specific.
Saw the message after a crashed session, but unfortunately I am not sure
whether there was a relation.

[Bug 936920] Re: [regression] default search engines are readded (keywords wiped) with upgrade

2013-06-02 Thread peT
I can confirm this is still happening. For me only the default search engines
are affected, meaning google.com, duckduckgo.com, ebay.com, amazon.com,
twitter.com, wikipedia (english) and yahoo.com.
The must get readded as they also are listed on bottom in the list of search
engines after every update AND more importantly are readded although I usually
delete most of them anyway.

[Bug 1047282] [NEW] programs install and work, but on every installation dpkg shows some error of a previously failed installation

2012-09-07 Thread peT
Public bug reported:

Facts:
12.04.1 LTS, fresh install
*don't know which package causes error, so can't provide apt-cache policy
pkgname*

Story is:
Ubuntu Software Center. Queued multiple programs to install (about 9 or so).
First was Gimp. It seems to have downloaded fine, because the USC showed
Applying changes. So I left my laptop, thinking it would just install all the
programs fine.
When I came back (half an hour later) it still showed Applying changes (for
Gimp). My pc is not slow at all, so clearly things were going wrong. I tried to
close USC and it hang up. I tried to use apt-get for installing another program
and it told me dpkg was blocked, as I expected. So I tried sudo killall dpkg
which said there is no such process.
So I restared the pc, which unlocked dpkg. And now everytime I install a
program I get this error which surely is applied to this report.
Fun Fact: Gimp works anyway.
Hope this helps, greets
peter

and it worked now with blowfish encryption, also when useing
cryptkeeper. This shows that something with the AES part in
SSL_Cipher.cpp (or openssl ?) must be wrong.

[Bug 127078] Re: samba: ..folder doesn't exist

2007-07-20 Thread pet

After fiddling and searching, I restarted samba (sudo /etc/init.d/samba
restart). And then I commented out msdfs proxy = no and restarted samba.

And voila! It's now working. I can dupllicate the problem. If I put in
msdfs proxy = no in my smb.conf and restart samba, it won't work. If I
comment it out again, it works.

see also : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/95460

why feisty is writing msdfs proxy = no to every shared folder in
smb.conf...

please correct this thing for samba!

I just want to be sure.. This is in GNOME's Nautilus, is it?

Right, msdfs proxy should not be set. Especially not to no.

2007-07-18 Thread pet
ok, i start to observe the behavior with watch -n 1 acpi -t. it's easy
to see that Thermal zone 5 is the fan speed!! that explains why it can
switch from zero to 80 and back that fast.

then i chanched:

sudo echo 120:112:100:90:85:80:58:53 /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ0/trip_points
sudo echo 20 /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ0/polling_frequency

wich gives me perfect behaviour: no noice, no fan, until i stress the
cpu realy (with a high performance calculation) !

[Bug 126447] acpi thermal_zone

2007-07-16 Thread pet
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi

Feisty on HP Compaq 6710b

i have some strange acpi behavior on my notebook.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/user# acpitool
  Battery #2 : charged, 97.44%
  AC adapter : on-line
  Thermal zone 1 : ok, 55 C
  Thermal zone 2 : ok, 52 C
  Thermal zone 3 : ok, 43 C
  Thermal zone 4 : ok, 31 C
  Thermal zone 5 : ok, 0 C
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/user#

in this state i have: no fan, no noise

then just 2 seconds later

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/deepa# acpitool
  Battery #2 : charged, 97.44%
  AC adapter : on-line
  Thermal zone 1 : ok, 56 C
  Thermal zone 2 : ok, 52 C
  Thermal zone 3 : ok, 43 C
  Thermal zone 4 : ok, 31 C
  Thermal zone 5 : ok, 80 C
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/user#

in this state i have full speed fan

then after 5 seconds:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/deepa# acpitool
Battery #2 : charged, 97.44%
  AC adapter : on-line
  Thermal zone 1 : ok, 55 C
  Thermal zone 2 : ok, 56 C
  Thermal zone 3 : ok, 49 C
  Thermal zone 4 : ok, 32 C
  Thermal zone 5 : ok, 0 C
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/user#
and again in this state i have: no fan, no noise

i can set the trip_point successfully but it do not change this strange
behaviour of Thermal zone 5 wich is jumping very fast from cold (0 C
!) to hot and back again in just a second, wich is physical not
possible.

who can i switch of Thermal zone 5 ?

[Bug 125710] bootlogd not working (sysvinit)

2007-07-13 Thread pet
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sysvinit

i tried to set up the boot logging on feisty

first i enabled in the file : /etc/default/bootlogd (no--yes)
# Run bootlogd at startup ?
BOOTLOGD_ENABLE=yes

then i turned it also on in the systemsettings.

but /var/log/boot or /var/log/boot.log always shows: (Nothing has been
logged yet.)

then i tried to install sysvinit with apt-get but this put's me on bash
after a restart (no X), and it removes upstart.

RE: [Bug 123501] Re: sshfs : : Permission denied

2007-07-05 Thread pet
Today i was playing around with encfs and to get encfs working it was
necessary to do a sudo addgroup user fuse...and then after a while i
found out that i have a connection with sshfs...but i was not knowing
why...your answer explains now everything :-)

but anyway sshfs shoud work out off the box. That make things simple
for simple users like mine.

Thank you for your fast respond

regards Peter

Ethan Blanton [EMAIL PROTECTED] schrieb: You will have to add yourself to the
'fuse' group before you can mount
fuse filesystems (including sshfs). You can do this either through the
Users and Groups utility, or by running 'sudo adduser fuse'
at a prompt. Once you have done this, log out and back in (sorry,
that's a limitation of Unix groups), and sshfs should work for you.

[Bug 123714] windows partition not found

2007-07-03 Thread pet
Public bug reported:

in my feisty i tried to mount my windows partition with the default settings
from the feisty install procedure :

i get in fstab:

# /dev/sda1
UUID=695EF101207A55DC /media/sda1 ntfs
defaults,nls=utf8,umask=007,gid=46 0 1

but there was no success, i didn't found my win-partition on /media/sda1

after a restart: i saw in the bootup process something like UUID not
found or similar

so i checked:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid
insgesamt 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 2007-07-03 12:41 600752dd-5ffe-47b6-8354-30dd820fe768
- ../../sda3
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 2007-07-03 12:41 695EF101207A55DC - ../../sda1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 2007-07-03 12:41 7673574d-6121-4157-8def-9712c1ee9190
- ../../sda2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 2007-07-03 12:41 ca966749-df95-48ee-87f8-048692399670
- ../../sda4

so UUID was correct!

then i tried to enable bootlogd in the systemsettings to get the real log from
the boot process and also set the file /etc/defaults/bootlogd=yes
but arrrgh... no success..with bootlogd must someting be wrong also.

then i changed in fstab:

/dev/sda1 /media/sda1 ntfs
ro,user,auto,nls=utf8,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0

and of corse it is working now!

but wy it is not working with UUID?

...and bootlogd is broken!
