FYI flash is slow on my ee even running windows unless its set to super performance mode (which I don't want to worry about getting manually implemented in ubuntu so I stick with XP). This bug is for people on normal hardware that should be able to play flash under windows but dies under linux.

If you're dual booting with Windows then you might try regressing back to your old BIOS and upgrading from Windows before going back in linux. This might rule out a bad BIOS pack or upgrade. You might also try regressing back to your old BIOS from linux itself and seeing if the problem goes away.

Confirmed as well on my Pavilion dv6646us notebook. Have to hold down a key during the bouncing progress bar which can be released once it gets to the actual progress bar. I'm running a tri-boot configuration with Vista, XP, and Ubuntu 8.10...Vista being the controlling bootloader. Using Wubi
