Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. I see this behavior in
wily as well. It's normal to see the panel and the dash when a non-
fullscreen window receives the focus, therefore, I will change the bug
status to Invalid for compiz. There's another problem though that you
might experience:

I have the same (or very similar) problem. I'm on KDE. It happened
somehow by clicking on the application window bar from KDE and it wanted
to drag&drop some window tab. For me, all keyboard input still works,
and I can move the mouse, but the mouse stays in the drag-state and it
ignores all clicks

I guess you meant 14.04/Trusty. 12.04/Precise still had unity2d. Looks
like 14.04/Trusty works better from the performance side (unity seems to
do less fading in and out which was the most obvious pain). And there is
a way to disable online search. Looks to be the same in Wily, so I think
this repo
