I am still getting this issue in Ubuntu 16.10 with Radiance and Ambiance

As there is no option to "remove" a hard disk drive in dolphin or the
usual USB notifier, I unmounted all partitions and sent the device to
sleep (gnome-disks), which causes a spin-down of the drive itself. Then
one can remove the disk in a relatively safe manner.
The message did not appear again
I am affected with 16.04, kernel 4.4.0-51-generic.
The only way I could make my system work has been to install initial
Ubuntu 16.04 and not upgrade any single package since installation.
I used to have hangs even before login, so I enabled auto-login without
password and things got better.

Wlan0 carrier is lost now and then although there is no apparent reason:
the signal which is broadcasted by the nearby AP remains always strong
just a few feet away.

With the patched lightdm this no longer occurs here on a fresh boot up.
However after a log out/in it still does & happens after every log

a MacBook Pro 2,1 with EFI-32, I was pleasantly surprised that Fedora 24
could produce a bootable system on an internal disk which was
partitioned as MBR with just a single spare partition of empty space.
