This is a bit of a bump, but the bug is still there in rc3.
IMO, OO is one of the most important apps in Ubuntu, and something like
this just wipes away confidence. However, I think that it may be a
64-bit problem, so can be solved (for now) by not using the *very*
experimental 64-bit OOo.
This bug is still present in a completely fresh install of the release
candidate (amd64).

And that is that! Happens every time...
This system has already installed and runs Knot 3 fullt updated. It
will still boot the Knot 3 CD. It is a perfectly stable Gentoo machine
on its other HDD, so there is probably no hardware problem.

I have purchased a different optical drive in order to install 8.10
I still have the Sony DVD-RW AW-G170A IDE which is 9 months old, very
little use and hasn't have any problems with anything else other than
installing the beta.
I am more than happy to donate and send this drive to someone if it

This problem was resolved by installing the realtime kernel, Linux
ubuntustudio 2.6.20-15-realtime. Since then the MIDI problems have all

enabled Windows shares on another computer, and away it went.
Its just started showing nothing in the Linux Windows folder using Nautilus
2.22.3.

If you choose to download the article attachments, then you can look at
them - they just don't display within Pan.

I'd done restart cups and set debug within the web admin panel.
Only after a reboot of PC would the logging start. Attached is log of
print with CP as you defined, and User dialog for photo.
This print failed on the Printer - continual data but no print, I had to
stop/exit but the spool/PC side

Hi Till. I then did the HP PSC-1210 using CUPS in both Linux Mint and
Linux Pinguy. It was worse than the Brother by far see attached pic. I
could only print colour when dialog set as A4 and normal colour. If set
as photo paper and photo I got the picture stretched and grayscale as

Hi Till. I tried another PC again, but this time with the HP. Now the print was
scaled correctly, although the quality was not as good as in Windows with
photoret mode. Then I tried a print to Brother using the different PC on USB
and it failed. Then I tried wifi print to Brother same settings

I can confirm this regression from Lucid. Only the VESA driver now
works. The VESA driver is reliable, but obviously limited in fetures.
I find that the boot process hangs completely with a kernel crash when
the radeon driver is loaded in the default configuration. My work-
around is to boot

prompt. How can I solve this?

I have an additional problem on my dual-boot U12.04/Win7 machine. I
need to have both on this machine. I need to have access to software
that will not run on and has no equivalent on Linux.
If I boot Ubuntu and then Windows, the lid-close suspend does not then

My machine went wrong about an hour ago. It failed to suspend on closing
the lid. However, it did not need a hard reset for well over two weeks,
over numerous suspend /resume cycles and reboots, which is much better
than I ever had with Ubuntu.

I installed OpenSUSE 12.2 on this machine as soon as it became final.
Since then, I have booted into SuSE and back into W7, suspended and
resumed on both OSes many times, and have had no problems.
In fact, everything* but the toys (ambient light sensor and keyboard
