development versions. Some builds of squeezecenter work; others do not,
but it appears to depend on whether the purge / re-install of mysql-
server and mysql-server-5.0 is successful or not.

I tested with the Edgy Eft knot 2 LiveCD using an IBM ThinkPad A21m
(from about 2000) and an AirLink 101 AWLC2036T PCMCIA adapter which uses
the RaLink RT61 driver.
Although the adapter is PCMCIA / CardBus, lsmod reports that the driver
is rt61pci.

several weeks ago I had used nvidia-xconfig in an attempt to enable the
proprietary driver. That might be the source of the bad settings for my
monitor.
However, until I can figure out why X is crashing using the non-

difficulty figuring out how to install the proprietary nvidia driver. I
tried nvidia-xconfig. Perhaps that is the source of the reference to
type1 fonts and to the incorrect settings for the Dell 2405 FPW monitor

1. Uninstalled xserver-xgl and restarted X. KDE session appeared to open
normally and worked in it for two or three hours. Tried changing several
Compiz settings. But when I tried to log out of the KDE session, it hung
hard, no keyboard, no mouse. The only thing that worked were the Alt-
