Ian is right, it does not depend on kubuntu. Currently I work around the problem by using nautilus (in kubuntu) to mount my samba servers. Until this bug occurred I used smb4k. The difference is of course nautilus uses fuse and the mounted smb share can be found under .gvfs, smb4k uses cifs and m
