Sometimes (often) LDAP users fails to log using lightdm.
When this happens, lightdm shows "Invalid password, please try again".
But this is not a password error, here is an extract of
/var/log/lightdm/lighdm.log:

lightdm + LDAP login intermitent fail

Dear Robert,
Thank you for you answer.
The text login works 100% of the time.
Your question about the local user is interesting.
The home directory is created at the first login, but my problem arises even if
the directory exists.
There is no error in /var/log/auth.log
My intuition is that li
I can't login using gdm (gdm display the busy icon forever).

Oops, I missed your comment #7...
The user is never added to the /etc/passwd file, but it is accessible using
"getent passwd".
getpwnam probably uses the same access for getting the passwd name.
however the man page of getpwnam is interesting:

It seems that some tests in ~lightdm-team/lightdm/1.2 : /src/accounts.c

13.10 daily build is still affected.
The fix is in upstream trunk (load Digest::SHA1 or Digest::SHA)
Can you please import it?
Thank you in advance

Hello!
Same problem here.
Rygel or (gupnp) uses NetworkManager only!, and I don't use NetworkManager
because it does not support bridged connections.
Please have a look at http://live.gnome.org/Rygel/FAQ.
I fixed the problem by recompiling gupnp.
This bug is really annoying an should be fixed,
mesa (7.11-0ubuntu1) oneiric, tested and working!

This bug is independent from 791133
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/791133).
Bug 791133 is a bug in mesa (opengl) and unity-2d uses the "raster" graphics
system.

Hi all!
I have seen that in when network booting a virtual machine...

I have made some investigations, and I have almost found the bug.
* The X server has chosen a format with 24 bit depth and 24 bits_per_pixel,
which seems
pretty unusual.
(source is qt/src/gui/image/qnativeimage.cpp)
* QNativeImage::format() returns either 16 or 32 bits, but never 24!

Hi Bryce!
a) I wrote it myself
b) I have sent it upstream
(http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/mesa-dev/2011-June/008997.html)
It should be included upstream soon, as it fixes the upstream bug
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23525
c) I tested it on a kvm machine using the cirrus
@Florian: It seems you're right...
qtdemo uses opengl as graphicssystem
qmlviewer uses raster as graphicssystem
So those 2 bugs are separated.
My patch fixes the opengl rendering issue
