Besides, your report is wrong afaik, the issue you have only happens

Using firefox 2.0b1 on edgy, the screen.resolution setting has been removed.
It has also been removed from the ui.
However, there is now a layout.css.dpi setting, which is set to -1 by default,

imho, kde and gnome are wrong to set a fixed dpi, but I'm not sure if
it's the problem, since firefox has its own settings anyway. However,
firefox dpi can be affected by the dpi kde and gnome set, but its dpi
(and thus fonts size) shouldn't be smaller. So I'm not sure how it is
possible.

When something is wrong, like I told you, look at the gtk settings in the
control center to check both qt and gtk should use the same font, then check
the ~/.gtkrc* files it should write, then check the firefox settings, in
mp3lib/mad/ffmpeg can be chosen at runtime, just look at : mplayer -ac

This strange behaviour is issue (1), which I believe this bug report was about.

Hello Folks!
I do have dwl-g122 rev B1. same story wep works fine, open network works fine,
wpa it's hell on earth impossible to make it work I am using Kubuntu 7.04, so I
am asuming it's the driver,

I'm no longer using Ubuntu, but I can confirm this makes the problem go away.
I am currently using the intel driver (2.1.1) without any particular settings
in xorg.conf ,
and the Elephants Dream movie now works fine (
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2772#c7 ).
I switched back to
I wasn't using Ubuntu anymore, but I just did a fresh install of Feisty
on another box, and this issue with eclipse is apparently fixed now. It
worked fine.

I confirm this bug with package 1.0beta1+1.0-5 (up-to-date 8.10) and that the
suggested workaround from Sergei works.

this problem is back again in jaunty causing confusion and pain for new
users thinking that ubuntu doesn't work properly with java apps because
of the dodgy openjdk. its a pain to have to get rid of the unstable and
incomplete openjdk and install the proper sun java.
