Using the lsusb command, I see that I have:

It just happend to me, a minute or so after logging in. I hadn't even
opened Nautilus and wasn't looking at thumbnails of videos. The only
program I hade opened after restarting my computer was digiKam. This on
a fully updated Jaunty.

Hi,
I was suffering the same problem since I've installed the Jaunty final
version. I have an AMD x3 over and MSI mother with and Nvidia (from
MSI).
I'm new in Linux. :(
I tried reconfiguring the mouse in the xorg because when I run Xinput it
shows me two devices one Macintosh that I don't know
... but I still don't see buttons.
Tried uninstall and reinstall all openoffice packages; tried removing,
adding and messing around with icon styles. No lucky so far.

This is a flagrant breach of trust. You installed something on my
computer that I absolutely didn't want installed. Apart from the FOSS
philosophy, the one thing that makes me love Linux is that I don't have
to have ads rammed down my throat when using it. Or at least I didn't
use to.

Sorry, I'm feeling stupid now! I was thinking more along the lines of
AWN, Cairo-Dock and such.
I still think this change should be reverted, though. It doesn't work
well when the dock is set to autohide (and can make for some truly weird
colour clashes if you set the dock to transparent, since
that is how it looks with
metacity too and autohide is not the common case.
That's the point of having compiz in the first place: it _isn't_ metacity!
This is an added feature that compiz brings and metacity doesn't have.
It seems such a shame to get rid of it for no good reason, when this is

Yup, still valid. I've never even had intel-vaapi-driver installed since
I'm using an Nvidia card with VDPAU. But VA-API is supposed to work with
VDPAU as a backend using the vdpau-va-driver. And it does sort of work
when using VLC and libav (still relatively high CPU usage), so I decided

I can now report that the 290.10 drivers from Nvidia work flawlessly for
me in Precise. I'm using an Nvidia 9800 GT card and an Asus P6T DELUXE
V2 motherbord on a desktop computer. No more crashes.
If the 295.20 drivers don't work with search in gnome-shell, regardless
of system it seems, and
I can now report that the 290.10 drivers from Nvidia work flawlessly for
