The Restricted Drivers Manager does not see my Nvidia drivers at all.
From before I remember that it only shows up if I have selected nvidia
in xorg.conf - when using the open source nv driver it does not show up
as available but disabled - it doesn't show at all.
A solution on my PC is to add vga=773 to the kernel command line (in
/etc/grub/menu.lst). Do not forget to run this command after editing the
file menu.lst:
update-initramfs -u -k `uname -r`

I think I've the same problem with web URLs: when I search a web page
indexed with Beagle Firefox extension, deskbar gives me the correcr URL,
for example http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=414762;. If I
click it the URL opened by the browser is

Do you use the closed source nvidia drivers? If yes, then the wrong
refresh rate is due to nvidias dynamic twinview stuff.
From the nvidia-glx README:

Still there on Feisty.
I just had this problem (Stans, except I only have a boot partition and a
ubuntu partition, no Fedora) when upgrading to feisty using apt-get
dist-upgrade. After rebooting, feisty doesn't see my VolumeGroup
/dev/mapper/vg1, stalling around the the line lookdevice-mapper:
