I thought I had entered a response to this, sorry. The bug has
apparently been fixed. Every Kubuntu install for some time exhibited
this error. One of the updates in the last several months seems to have
fixed it. A blank 'Creation Date' no longer crashes any file viewer.

I've been trying to test this with the beta2 CD, but my system seems to

Not everyone would use compositing. Could there be any other alternative

I've got a Toshiba M110 and with previous Ubuntu releases the battery
was draining approx 30% overnight. I'm now running Intrepid (2.6.27-6)
and it appears now to be only 4-5% (this is however after starting the
laptop on only battery).

Hello,
i just upgraded from hardy to intrepid, it worked smoothly except for that
specific use case.
When i used fspot to import photos in hardy it was really smooth while now it
is really slow (from 30s to 1h30).

Open browser here is a context indendent entry, meaning it doesn't care at all
if you click on empty space an URL a rendering glitch.
As the icon indicates it is the _file_ browser it is talking about and it will
open the current _directory_ in the _file_browser. A feature to open URLs
directly

Upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 3 stops Nvidia driver working
It's a bug on splash screen, desactivate it like i did. It boots faster
and no errors. Check my video information if you don't know how to
desactivate the splash screen
