Hello,
I've the same problem here.
In gutsy, everything worked alright.
Then i upgraded to hardy and copy/paste in calendar doesn't work anymore.
It crashes without any warning.

I get exactly the same behaviour after buildinng the alsa-modules from
source with module assistant:
alsamixer (and generally alsa-tools and the alsa-modem) is now working fine,
however no sound coming out!!!

Depending on the mother board chipset, and the sound card chipset, the
period (n) should be 2 or 3, most of the time. For exemple, RME hdsp and

After it worked nicely with kernel 2.6.24-12-generic the bug reappeared
with one of the latest kernel-upgrades. Currently I'm running kernel
2.6.24-16-generic and resuming leads to a blank screen and the laptop
doesn't respond to any key-press...

It's quite possible it's several bugs with similar symptoms: for me
pulseaudio seems not to matter at all, while disabling desktop effects
does seem to have fixed it.

Well, this hard lock is observed by us in *every* ubuntu kernel starting
with feisty's 2.6.20 flavor. We observed hard locks on webservers and on
our laptops. The common factor seems to be a large number of
simultaneously opened TCP/IP connections either through the number of
clients in the case

The stock installation of aptitude will try to install recommended
packages as hard dependencies. In the case of installing selinux this
results in ubuntu-standard being uninstalled (due to ubuntu-standard
recommending apparmor-utils). I suspect that this is what has happened.
