Hi, I've been running the Lynx Beta and am really pleased with what I'm
seeing. In particular the integrated support for jackd w/pulseaudio is
nice. If jackd is started it handles pulseaudio nicely and my jack
based apps work. I have one use case however I'm not sure is possible.

previous setup was a M-audio delta 66. I had no problem using that
on web sites.
Am I missing something or does the Onyx only work using jack?

Well, I used the Yamaha John Myung signature 6 string which is active.
And I got a real good Output without any DI. I just plugged it into
the Break-Out-Box and it worked perfectly for me.

I'm not looking at a setup with the same hardware as yours, but this might
work. Try running QAmix, and play with the combo box on the Capture tab. I
bet it's sitting at Mic and you want to change it to Line.

a completely miserable first experience. I'm
sorry about that, but it doesn't change the facts about the machine you were
trying to use. That one *guaranteed* a miserable experience, whereas the
other one gave you a fighting chance (and you still lost the fight, as it
turned out.)
