Sure syncing is possible with the plugin and it works here eg. between a
Pi 3B with Hifiberry, a directly to an Apple Airport Express attached
speaker and the Airport Express via the Plugin and the Ikea Symfonisk
I took the easy way to add an Ikea Symfonisk to my piCorePlayer LMS
installation. I simply added the airplay plugin to LMS and used the
Symfonisk for playing through this plugin. No hardware changes are
neccessary and you still have the good sound which is measured with an
iPhone for the room

This is the 32bit piCorePlayer 8.1.0 on a Pi 3B+ with an external
Bluetooth dongle which is working fine since months.
When it starts, I can connect a Bluetooth speaker and it plays without
any problem. No dropouts or something like that.

Today I made a patch update and it seems that something with alsamixer
has been changed. The sound is much louder since the update, so I
changed the PCM value of the mixer and everything is as loud as before.
This is no problem, I only wondered why this happened.

As you didn't tell which Pi you are using it is not possible to tell you
the correct way.
It is possible with Pi 3B, Pi 3B+ and Pi 4B.

Today I got the mentioned Plugable USB Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy Micro
Adapter adapter. After disabling internal Bluetooth and inserting the
adapter before the necessary boot it worked
