Hello everybody, Until yesterday TIDAL worked fine on my piCore 7.0.1 based ALLO BOSS2 Player. Today TIDAL plays only 4 sec silently of each track and skips to the last track. Radio Paradise and streaming from my harddrive attached to the BOSS2 works fine. Can anybody help me out please? What diagnostics information is required? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
Solved it, I selected the player I wanted, backed up the changes then rebooted. That should have been corrected in 6.0.1. If you system is missing this, there is a chance other things are messed up too. However, I pushed an update to the insitu update for 7.0.0 that should correct this. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Good morning Ronnie. It was very late last night when I got the DAC working. I listened to it for a while and discovered that after 2-3 minutes of play it stops playing for about 1 second, stutters back and continues playing for another few minutes then repeats that process. More information. I'm playing almost exclusively FLAC files on a RPI4 running over Ethernet. I'm using a 5" touch screen displaying a VU meter. I mention that because when the music stops the VU freezes exactly where it is until play resumes. Maybe that's a hint. Anyway, I'm wondering where and what to look for to diagnose/correct the issue. I did read about the buffers in Jivelite and experimented with some of those settings, but none of that made a difference. Thanks once again for any light you can shed on this. Right now I am using Squeezeplay on my Windows PC and listening through Sennheiser HD600's and it sounds great. Thanks for any help you can offer and again, sorry for not getting back. Howard P.S. I would like to use an AudioLab M-DAC+ with my RPI 4 running piCorePlayer 7.0, Squeezelite v1.9.9-1386-pCP. I've tried all of the suggested output setting with no luck. The files are on a NAS. We did have a power cut which upset the ip address of the Pi running LMS server. I then fixed this in the router settings by linking the ip address to the MAC. The address of the NAS was already fix in this way, so the Pi should have still had the correct address for the NAS. Having added new albums I've now had two instances where, when I select 'Look for new and changed media files', the entire library is deleted rather than being rescanned. In trying to recover this, selecting 'Clear library and rescan everything' does nothing. If I reboot the server from the LMS page it does nothing either. But in the end they learned quicker than I was able to come > up with something useful. Hi, I tried installing piGridSkin. I took both folders "PiGridSkin" and "JogglerSkin" from "jivelite-master\share\jive\applets" and moved them into "/home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets" (had to use sudo as I don't have write permissions in this folder). Saved to SD -> Reboot Jivelite doesn't offer a PiGridSkin. Now I have the "Grid Skin" two times available with resolution 1024 x 600 (resolution of my 7'' Waveshare display). But there is no difference between them. I only can use the Grid Skin with 1024 x 600 as this is the only one where my touchscreen is calibrated properly. E.g. Joggler Skin has a wrong resolution (too small) and touchscreen doesn't work properly. I even tried "export JL_SCREEN_WIDTH=1024 and export JL_SCREEN_HEIGHT=600" but this didn't make a difference. So now I am stuck with this view: "Folder menu" : 35184 35185 35186 "Albums" : (too small pictures, all albums are here, so not separated ) 35187 But every folder (e.g. "Hörbuch", "Conni") has his own folder.jpg but it isn't displayed. So please if you have any idea what I can do to make this more a "thumbnail" menu, I and my kids will be very happy to try it out!! :) +---+ |Filename: 20210710_004340.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35187| +---+ cybtrash's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71926 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Just make sure to run a backup after you change the screen layouts. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
The Joggler skin should be the correct solution. If the Artwork is good, they can use it, I think. There's the piGridSkin - optimized for the Pi's original 7" display (like Joggler), but with larger artwork. There is only the main menu that should be stripped a little bit. I don't know which things can be all switched off. It's probably easiest to connect a keyboard to the device, then hit the + key on the far right of it. That should bring up a context menu from where you can hide things. My experience with kids using the Radio around that age is that they're not so much into messing around, but they want to find "their pictures" as quickly as possible. I used a Library View in LMS to create a "Kids" menu, which had nothing but their albums in it. "Kids" (or rather "Kinder" :-)) they were able to identify long before they could read it. But that's all they needed. From their they scrolled up and down and were happy. I initially wanted to write a plugin and what not to make the system kids proof. But in the end they learned quicker than I was able to come up with something useful. ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Hello, Is there a very simple to use skin for Jivelite (7'' Touchscreen) that is suitable for small children that can't read yet (4-6 years). I want to put some Musik CDs and Audiobooks on it, best would be they would only see Artwork Covers and click on them. Like only album covers. Best would be a navigation like this Code: audiobooks (artwork) -> audiobookseries1 (artwork) -> episode 1 (artwork) episode 2 (artwork) audiobookseries2 (artwork) -> episode 1 (artwork) ... music (cover) -> album1 (artwork) -> album2 (artwork) I just installed picoreplayer so maybe somebody could give me a hint? :) I have no problem if it should take some time tagging mp3, making artwork for every folder etc. cybtrash's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71926 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

OK - I finally understand. I see that /usr/local/etc/init.d/pcp_startup.sh is explicitly listed in /opt/.filetool.lst and it is not a link. So I think that something like this might work ... cd /usr/local/etc/init.d/ sudo cp /usr/local/etc/init.d/wifi mywifi vi mywifi ;make your change esc :wq sudo cp mywifi wifi vi /opt/.filetool.lst ;add to the end on a new line /usr/local/etc/init.d/wifi esc :wq pcp bu pcp rb Of course, if this is wrong then the worst that happens is that you rewrite your SD card and start again. Yes, I know. The problem is that it seems the default init script for wifi does not use the Linux hostname ("pcp1" - in my case) for starting udhcpc, but the LMS player name (which may contain spaces: "Kitchen Player"). I want to change the wifi script that it uses the configured Linux hostname (without spaces). 2x Squeezebox Radio| piCorePlayer with IQaudIO DigiAMP+ | piCorePlayer with HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro | piCorePlayer with touch screen and USB DAC ashceryth's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67137 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Petar, open a ssh session and run the command Code: pcp-update alsa-modules-KERNEL.tcz It should update your alsa modules extension, then rebootsee if that does the trick. Its a quite large dependency chain, hopefully I followed it through. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
For the first part ... pCP web/Tweaks/Audio Tweaks/turn off automatic starting of Squeezelite For the 2nd part ... Perhaps a memory leak somewhere and it runs out of memory over time - and with 7 instances of Squeezelite running there is less memory to lose. Just a guess though. You could ssh into the system and leave a script running that displays a line of info every minute and hope that it shows an issue just before it loses connection. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
Hi, I am new to the party. I am using piCorePlayer 7 with an RaspberryPi 2 (B) and a Logilink 7.1 USB Soundbox. Network via USB WiFi (vendor Edimax). I start 7 squeezelite instances and stop the original one via bootlocal.sh in the following way: Code: pkill squeezelite /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "room1" -o monofrontl -a 80:::0: -m ab:cd:ef:12:34:01 -C 1 -z /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "room2" -o monofrontr -a 80:::0: -m ab:cd:ef:12:34:02 -C 1 -z /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "room3" -o stereosurround -a 80:::0: -m ab:cd:ef:12:34:03 -C 1 -z /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "room4" -o monocenterl -a 80:::0: -m ab:cd:ef:12:34:05 -C 1 -z /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "room5" -o monocenterr -a 80:::0: -m ab:cd:ef:12:34:06 -C 1 -z /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "room6" -o monobackl -a 80:::0: -m ab:cd:ef:12:34:07 -C 1 -z /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n "room7" -o monobackr -a 80:::0: -m ab:cd:ef:12:34:08 -C 1 -z 1) Maybe there is a better way to not have the initial instance than killing it? 2) The problem I ran into is that after some time (about 1.5 days) the piCorePlayer goes into bad behaviour with following symptoms: * Playing music (streamed by LMS on a seperate device) sounds very choppy with interruptions every few seconds. * Unable to ssh or even ping the device. HTTP also not reachable. Seems like the network stack is broken with only the tcp connection to the LMS being still alive. * Controlling the squeezelite instance (start/stop music...) still possible via LMS. To fix it, I power the device off and on and then it runs again. Any ideas? As a system running in memory, I guess it is not easy to get some logs... Thanks in advance for your help. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
others have reported it. Unfortunately, without hardware, I have to rely on others to gather info. It appears the driver is loading, but Alsa is not seeing the card. Ill look at the a mixer problem, but I dont think that is the ultimate problem. There is no noticeable error in dmesg, so perhaps a soft dependency is missing. if you have an raspbian image to see what drivers get loaded there. The -517 error is normal ..its quiet in the logs when it is successful. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
Hi there, I upgraded from piCorePlayer v6.1.0 to v7.0.0, and was unable to get the Cirrus Logic Audio Card working. I also tried installing piCore from scratch with a new MicroSD card but same issue. As a sanity check, I rolled back to v6.1.0, and it worked like it always has. I tried to spot differences between the versions. One thing I noticed with v7.0.0, is in the 'Cirrus Logic Audio Card Configuration', when I click 'Update or Remove Cirrus Logic Configuration Scripts from pCP'. As you can see below, it looks like the amixer command executed by piCorePlayer was invalid, since amixer returned the usage information. Code: [ INFO ] Setting Cirrus Card Configuration... [ INFO ] Setting Speakers ON Usage: amixer [command] Available options: -h,--help this help -c,--card N select the card -D,--device N select the device, default 'default' -d,--debug debug mode . . Back in v6.1.0, performing the same action shows a successful result: Code: [ INFO ] Setting Cirrus Card Configuration... [ INFO ] Setting Speakers ON [ INFO ] Setting Headset ON [ INFO ] Setting Line Out ON [ INFO ] Setting Spdif ON [ INFO ] Backing up files to /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/mydata.tgz/- Done. Probably could put a script in to perform the mount and then run the script from the pCP user commands Paul Webster http://dabdig.blogspot.com author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, supla finland, abc australia, cbc/radio-canada and rte ireland Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
I have done a bit of testing and I think the problem is with brackets in the share name. The pCP GUI doesn't seem to accept the input of brackets and if you add the brackets manually in the configuration file it breaks the LMS web page. When I rebooted at this stage, the whole GUI refused to start. Without the brackets everything worked as expected. Scanning the LMS library took a little under twice as long which was surprisingly good I thought. Mounting the share, with brackets, from the command line worked but wouldn't survive a reboot. Lots of complaints about smb 1 on sonos forum. Could somebody suggest how I can create a suitable config file? castalla's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15624 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

pCP uses Samba 4, There is no direct samba1 support built into the interface. It might be possible for you manually generate a configuration, but smb1 is ancient. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. When I connect the network viewer says can't open the LMSfiles folder. This is using tc and the password set up in the pcp samba configuration. Not sure if it's relevant but sonos needs smb 1. castalla's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15624 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Presumably castalla wants the SAMBA part to aid copying files to it from Windows and also so that the Sonos system can mount it. Samba is for external connections. You do not need that for LMS. Just mount the USB drive. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. If it's on the pi then I guess I'll need to install samba (with all the config settings, which I have never really ever got to grips with).
