I tried the suggestion of changing to the testing repository, and
upgraded (now at 7.4.2 - r2975), then switching the repository back to
stable. I'd just like to confirm that it was a helpful suggestion as I
no longer get the dependency error messages and everything seems to be
working fine so

The SQL problem with 9.04 with sql 5 to 9.10 sql 5.1 is a known issue.

I have upgraded ubuntu server, and desktop versions to karmic without
any SBS issues. Prior conditions were that all updates were installed
and running SBS 7.4.2 r29082.
Latest SBS nightly r29092 upgraded also with no issues.

I had to rebuild my machine and installing kubuntu 9.10 only installs
mysql-server-core. This doesn't satisfy the squeezebox dependencies.
I installed mysql-server-5.1 and this satisfied the dependencies.

Server: SheevaPlug running Debian 6.0 Squeeze on SD-card with
SqueezeBoxServer
the problem that I am suffering is that the deb won't install with
Mysql5.1 in place. A fix is on the way. I would guess that if you
install mysql 5.1 after the deb then it will work ok. Kubuntu 9.10
removes sbs at present and cannot be installed simply with the deb. If
you can get sbs running it
