Bottom line: Microsoft does not play well with Livecode's clipboard. Other apps
are fine.
Why not use WordLib? Sounds like an ideal scenario for it.
Current release is ANSI but next release (almost there) has very
accurate Unicode! Tested with many languages.

Any idea if WordLib handles OSX Word 2004?
So far I've focused primarily on documents created by Word 2007 and up
for Windows. Next in line, I'll be testing documents from Word 2008 for Mac!
I assume that Word 2004 Mac is similar to 2003 Windows. I would expect
it to import fairly well on

In LiveCode 4.6.1, Windows 7, I'm suddenly getting blues and yellows
swapped for outer glows! A blue glow is now yellow and vice versa.
Rev 4.0 and LiveCode 4.5.3 don't have this problem; the colors are not

Didn’t someone write a plugin that allows you to edit the text
attributes and styles of text in a field?
I made one called FieldTrip.
It's currently being updated for newer iOS and LC versions, because FT
is 10% text styling and 90% custom mobile/desktop GUI. Plus there are
/paste doesn't handle everything in your document or doesn't work
on your setup, you could try WordLib.
Or use one of the non-CSS HTML editors that other people listed; those
are great too.

As it turns out, a button works better than a field because its label is
centered both vertically and horizontally
That was a very interesting bug, requiring a separate click to correctly
display each menu! Fixed now, also I found an easy workaround for anyone
using LC 6.7 - 8.1.2.

There's nothing wrong with numberFormat as a binary to

What LiveCode brings to the modern world is a high-level
scripting language distinguished not by any conformance to
the rules of English, but by being among the very few that
include support for GUI controls as inherent language elements.
Just a brief reply here to note that there's
ways to make improvements to specific
numberFormat limitations without breaking anything. Failing that, I'm
happy to keep enjoying the limited role that it does well, and rolling
some of my own solutions. :)
