save. The delay was put in to see if this cured the problem.
I think you missed the point though. The problem I have is that saving over
a network can take some time, several seconds and it seems that Rev
Ok -second thoughts this approach is rubbish, as the result is a function!
Is it possible to determine when the save command has completed (and the
result should appear valid)?

As a windows user I have never had any problem with reactivation (and am not
personally aware of anyone who has had a problem). I have upgraded most
parts of my PCs (both have separate licensed copies of XP) and typically
