Ludovic these are all good suggestions. Changing the cross icon to rotate
an object is good idea.
And the idea of indicating which tool is selected makes sense if it's not
too much work to implement. Making the background of the selected tool
darker or lighter would work well.

I agree with Peter and would like to see the modern iconset for the room.
The new iconset is monochrome, but with realy good styled shapes.
I also asked some of my users and most of them told me, om is ok but looks oldschool and should be refreshed.
