hi tom.
thanks so much for your great informations.
i learned many useful things from it and i appreciate you and pray for you.
i heard sometimes that openoffice license is license of oracle company.
is it true?

i love gpl mpl and lgpl license best and they are very close to my
ideas and beliefs.
in this case, libreoffice is the best option for me forever.
am i right?

[libreoffice-users] i have questions about licensing in libreoffice.

2017-04-15 Thread nasrin khaksar
hello every one.
i appreciate if someone explane for me license agreement and terms of
use for libreoffice and its difference with openoffice!
i remember that i wanted to study it, but it was extremely long
specially with inclusion of thirdparthy terms and use like java, some
font manufacturers extensions and plugins makers etc.
and for this reason i could not understand the difference between
license and terms of use for the two project!
could you please explane for me some of the main rools and regulations
that we should do and maintain and also differences in license between
two programs?
thanks extremely for your help, i pray for you and request divine
infinite mercy for you.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: LibreOffice help menu

hi.
did you try installing offline version of libreoffice help file?
you should download and install the help file separately.
if you did not this, when you open libreoffice help, you view the help
in website of libreoffice, not locally on your system!

[libreoffice-users] libreoffice developers please answer my question about security!

2016-10-18 Thread nasrin khaksar
hello.
i use libreoffice for two years as you know.
today i recieved an email about security Vulnerability which are
solved in different versions of openoffice.
but fortunately i did not see such emails about libreoffice!
does it mean that libreoffice which is one branch of openoffice, is
extremely secure and it does not have any security Vulnerability to
fix in the every new release version?
all versions are the same in security and its no different which
version i desire to use. is it true?
i use and wish to use 4.4.6, is it completely secure like the oldest
and newer versions?
finally, if its impossible or difficult to answer my questions in the
list, please send me the answer via my personal email address!

thanks so much for your great job and God bless you all!

thanks so much for your answers.
i ment that does libreoffice install the require fonts by default?

when in two years ago i used microsoft office, i did not install any
fonts and microsoft office recognized my documents.
for this reason, i asked about libreoffice.
does libreoffice recognize persian and arabic characters immediately

a person who has a fresh windows, does not install separate windows,

i reported a bug for this problem almost two years ago and without any

Re: [libreoffice-users] Character style support in impress

2016-04-12 Thread nasrin khaksar
hello.
i use libreoffice 4.3.5.
but i tested more than twenty versions of this great program.
from my experience, if you install version 5.0 and later, there are
more features for impress and its more customizable in impress in
compare to the previous versions.
if i am correct, you can select these settings that you want in the
format menu.
and you can change the values according to your desire.
thanks so much for your question and god bless you.

1/ urgent question: if i reinstall windows and install libreoffice,

does it make any serious problem?
open office by default installs this component, but libreoffice does
not install and it should be installed separately.
2/ i wanted to learn using libreoffice impress and for testing, i
added one audio file to impress.
but i could not open it by libreoffice.
does libreoffice impress support openning media files? if does, how
can i use it?
3/ experimental features in libreoffice options, advance if i
mentioned the address correctly.
what is the experimental features exactly?
which one is better? desable experimental features or enable it?
thanks every one for your help and god bless you.

[libreoffice-users] about unicode characters:

2016-03-11 Thread nasrin khaksar
hi every one.
thanks so much for spending time and helping me to use libreoffice properly.
is there a solution for libreoffice to recognize the unicode incoding
and open them properly like utf-8 documents?
because open office has unicode utf-7 and utf-8 and libreoffice has
utf-7, utf-8 and utf-16.
whats the difference between unicode and unicode utf-8?
thanks and god bless you all.

[libreoffice-users] two accessibility questions and two general:

2016-02-20 Thread nasrin khaksar
hi every one.
thanks extremely for spending your time helping me and other users.
i request devine mercy for you in my prayers always!
i have questions and i wish to find answers for them by your kindness
and generocity as always.
1/ how can i know which accessibility issues were solved in
libreoffice 4.4 branche?
i searched, but could not find answer.
2/ from two days ago by reading bugzilla i realized that libreoffice
calc became accessible since version 4.3.3 if i am correct and it made
me very happy.
is it possible to for example: impress is accessible now since
specific version, but i dont have information about it now?
3/ whats the difference between number format and scientific and
engineering which added since version 4.4 branche to libreoffice calc?
whats its usage and advantage?
4/ is it possible to add images and edit them in libreoffice versions
before version 5?
because since version 5.0 the item images (crop image, replace image,
compress image, save image and edit with external tools) were added
and not in the previous versions.
does it work like photoshop, gimp etc?
i mean that is the same with images programs like photoshop gimp and
also the fonction and usage the same between the new images in
libreoffice programs which i mentioned with these specific image
programs?

Re: [libreoffice-users] question about libreoffice 4.3 and automatic spell check

2016-02-18 Thread nasrin khaksar
hi dave.
your answer is complete, and helpful too.
because of accessibility reasons, i should use libreoffice 4.3.0.2 and above.
because the previous versions need java and java access briedge and i
dont know how to use them.
but 4.3 and later versions, fortunately, thanks god, by his grace and
mercy and thanks to  the developers dont know these extra components
and are accessible by default reasonably except for some problems that
i reported before to bugzilla.
and you mentioned, that i go to the tools, auto correct options, then
options tab and select which one i want to be checked or not.
i tested this, but unfortunately nvda does not read the options and
only says checkbox check or not.
for shortcuts and read only mode, your solution was great and i did
not know them before.
thanks and god bless you.

accessible for me too.

for example: i write and save my document in read only mode to becomes

i think that my document is simple without images and graphical

[libreoffice-users] a question about libreoffice and txt files:

2016-01-09 Thread nasrin khaksar
hi every one.
i tried both libreoffice and open office.
fortunately libreoffice recognizes the incoding of the txt files and
open them without asking about which incoding should is use, and also
about phont and language.
its a very great feature that even microsoft office has not and its
realy unique for libreoffice!
but in some cases when i want to open a persian txt file with
libreoffice, unfortunately libreoffice does not recognize the incoding
and does not open my txt in utf-8 incoding!!!
as the result, libreoffice desplays this kind of files like chinese or
japanese characters and its becomes completely unreadible!
the persian txt files characters are not display correctly in persian
and becomes unreadible!

in these cases, is it possible to make change in libreoffice settings
to libreoffice recognizes unicode and utf-8 correctly or at least
libreoffice asks to which incoding should it use?
as i mentioned, only the cases that libreoffice does not recognize the
incoding correctly, i want libreoffice to asks like open office.
but if it becomes possible to show unicode and persian files always
correctly, its a very great and unique feature that recognizes without
asking any questions!
thanks for your help and god bless you all.

[libreoffice-users] a question about libreoffice opdate:

2015-11-09 Thread nasrin khaksar
hello every one.
i have a question about libreoffice update in version 5 and compare to
the versions 4.3 and 4.4.
i appreciate you if you help me in this regard.
in libreoffice 4.3 and 4.4 its a setting in libreofficeoptions online
update to activate or
deactivate libreoffice update and also consider that download the
newer version of libreoffice be automatic or not.
but in version 5.0.2.1 of libreoffice i did not find the
setting for update in libreoffice.
how is update of the newer version of libreoffice?
i am afraid of the newer versions will be download automaticly without
asking and my desire.
because its not pleasant for me automatic update or even search for
new versions.
i would love to read the new features and bug fixes in the libreoffice
website myself and if i find an interesting change, i download the
newer version setup file manually.
i am waiting for your sincere help like before.
god bless you. from: zahra.
