I had open office 4.1.8.  It began malfunctioning.  I did a "repair."  Didn't work I removed and when trying to reinstall, found 4.1.9.  It didn't work either.  I can no longer copy/paste a word file--it turns a solid, huge blue. I made a PDF of the word file.  It will not load with OLE object.

Did you download the file from OpenOffice.org?  I don’t know of any version of OO that uses a CD disk. Latest version is 4.1.7 ( https://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html) If you paid for the version (very obsolete) that you are trying to install, you got ripped off.  Open Office is free.
