Hello Paul,

I think yes, depends on your switches. I'm working with lenovo
chassis' I/O modules that provide a configuration option called
network default-tag that does exactly this.

[ovirt-users] Apache Directory Server

2018-01-23 Thread C Williams
Hello,

Has anyone successfully connected the ovirt-engine to Apache Directory
Server 2.0 ?

I have tried the pre-set connections offered by oVirt and have been able to
connect to the server on port 10389 after adding the port to a
serverset.port. I can query the directory and see users but I cannot log
onto the console as a user in the directory.

If any one has any experience/guidance on this, please let me know.

Thank You

Re: [ovirt-users] How to manage virtual networks in oVirt 4.2?

2018-01-23 Thread Dominik Holler
The ovirt-provider-ovn implements parts of OpenStack Networking API
(Neutron). This way every client for OpenStack Networking API may work
for the features which are already implemented by ovirt-provider-ovn.
I successfully used the neutron cli, e.g. by
OS_PASSWORD=xxx OS_AUTH_URL=https://0.0.0.0:35357/v2.0 \
OS_CACERT=/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/ca.pem neutron ovn-nbctl

The library shade [1] is very usable, because you are able to restrict
to parts of the API which are already implemented.

Ansibles os_* modules [2] are not yet working fluently because of some
gaps in the API in the current implementation.

There are still many gaps in the implementation, e.g. NAT, but
you are welcome to report gaps in the API which hurts you as bugs on
ovirt-provider-ovn.

There is no technical limitation in using the raw ovn-nbctl commands,
but this not supported.

I use OVN with linuxbridge. Where and how I may adjust routing, NAT etc. for
virtual networks?
ManageIQ doesn't see them (probably it is devoted that my switch type should be

2018-01-23 Thread Sergey Kulikov
Title: Re: [ovirt-users] Found some bugs with NFS.

I'll post second part there.
Unfotunately I can't use fedora as ovirt node(unsupported), and share hangs only after some time,
I'm trying to find out what type of IO, leads to this hang, I'll try on other OSes if I'll find what
to try.
But first part is directly related to ovirt, I think.

CentOS have a bugtracker[1], but I think it's worthwhile understanding if it is reproducible with other OS. Fedora, for example.

Hello Carl,

If you did not mark the network as "VM Network" it will be created
bridgeless.

Do you think you could share vdsm.log and supervdsm.log from your host, so
I could look into it?

Thanks,
Petr

Re: [ovirt-users] Official Hyperconverged Gluster oVirt upgrade procedure?

2018-01-23 Thread Hanson Turner

Hi Guys,

What the official upgrade procedure now? Has anything changed?

What's the upgrade path from 4.0.4 to current stable?
Engine-upgrade-check returns no upgrades needed, and that's probably
correct, as it looks like the repos are from 4.0

Tying yum update on node/hosts fails on gluster, and I'm leary on update
the repo to pull the newer gluster packages because of potential issues
of the other two hosts being on older glusters.

Thanks!

Hello,

i would appreciate any hint, too. I'm on 4.0.6 on Centos 7.3 since
yesterday but I'm frightened what I need to do to upgrade and be
able to manage gluster from GUI then.

1. Setting global maintenance mode,
2. upgrading the engine on the engine VM as for a regular engine,
3. exit the global maintenance mode
4. upgrade the host (once at time!!!) from the engine

should be enough

Bye

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if we have an updated manual or whats the current
procedure for upgrading the nodes in a hyperconverged ovirt
gluster pool?

Ie Nodes run 4.0 oVirt, as well as GlusterFS, and hosted-engine
running in a gluster storage domain.

Put node in maintenance mode and disable glusterfs from ovirt
gui, run yum update?

Thanks!

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt 4.1 change ovirtmgmt to enable VLAN tagging

2018-01-23 Thread Staniforth, Paul
Hello Luca,

We are keeping the VLAN ID the same so would this work, not
being a network expert can the same VLAN be tagged and native on the same port?

Thanks,

Hello,

We have an oVirt 4.1 cluster of 3 ovirt-nodes that currently on the
management network don't have VLAN tagging enabled, we would like to enable
VLAN tagging and so would be grateful of anyone had an information or
experience doing this.

The management engine is running on a separate host and the 3 hosts are running
oVirt Node 4.1.6

Hi Paul, i did the same with the same release.

The trick was to set the tagging also of the default vlan on the switch during
the change from untagged to tagged.

In example, if you have to move your ovirtmgmt to vlan 10, you can set your
port for serving the network both native and tagged so while changing the
ovirtmgmt setup you will not lose the connectivity.

[ovirt-users] SSL Workflow for oVirt

2018-01-23 Thread Gabriel Stein
Hi all,

I think that I found a way to solve the problem from:
http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2018-January/086441.html and I'm
trying to fix it.

But my servers are in Production(50%) and I found that are some errors with
my SSL Certificates.

## What I need now? Fixes all certificates problems using my Freeipa
generated certificates: vdsmclient* on hosts, ovirt-engine communication
ssl certificates on hosted-engine.

I made with Freeipa(internal) the certificates for ovirt-engine( only
apache - self hosted) and Hosts(vsdmclient and vdsmkey) and replaced
using this howto:

https://gist.github.com/qrkourier/9c9ac3e8b190dcb91d3767179d5a39ea

## Now ovirt-engine can't contact a Host(Non Responsive) with the
errors(Yes, I have a Backup from all old certificates):

*VDSM host.domain.tld command GetCapabilitiesVDS failed: General SSLEngine
problem*

On engine.log:

*2018-01-23 13:33:40,160+01 ERROR
[org.ovirt.engine.core.vdsbroker.vdsbroker.GetAllVmStatsVDSCommand]
(EE-ManagedThreadFactory-engineScheduled-Thread-23) [] Command
'GetAllVmStatsVDSCommand(HostName = host.domain.tld,
VdsIdVDSCommandParametersBase:{hostId='d6bc650b-7edd-4019-b316-54313217880f'})'
execution failed: VDSGenericException: VDSNetworkException: General
SSLEngine problem*
*2018-01-23 13:33:40,160+01 INFO
[org.ovirt.engine.core.vdsbroker.monitoring.PollVmStatsRefresher]
(EE-ManagedThreadFactory-engineScheduled-Thread-23) [] Failed to fetch vms
info for host 'host.domain.tld' - skipping VMs monitoring.*

## I read, that ovirt-engine generates certificates for all hosts and it
uses his own CA.

Questions:

- How can I fix the communication from hosted-engine and vsdm on hosts?
Should I copy my Freeipa ca.crt and replace the ca.der file on
*/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/certs*?

- Should I change the engine.cer certificate from */etc/pki/ovirt-engine/certs
*with my Certificate made using Freeipa?

- How to do that properly?

- Where can I find a complete workflow from SSL Certificates from oVirt?
What certificates should I change?

## I found some links that to me are confusing(or I'm just dumb), I will
take my end solution and do a howto to all:

how updated is that? I can't overwrite a ca from ovirt-engine?

- https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/admin-guide/appe-oVirt_and_SSL/ *- *
*Note:** Using a commercially issued certificate for HTTPS connections does
not affect the certificate used for authentication between your Engine and
hosts. They will continue to use the self-signed certificate generated by
the Engine... *

... Well, why I keep receiving errors with the self-signed CA from
ovirt-engine and the disk uploads?(*Unable to upload image to disk
a-b-c-d-e due to a network error. Make sure ovirt-imageio-proxy service is
installed and configured, and ovirt-engine's certificate is registered as a
valid CA in the browser. The certificate can be fetched from
https:///ovirt-engine/services/pki-resource?resource=ca-certificate&format=X509-PEM-CA*
)

Thanks in Advance!

Best Regards,

Gabriel
PS: I would help with the oVirt Wiki if needed, I would follow the rhce
path and do the rhcs certification too, will be nice to study a lot.

[ovirt-users] VM is down with error: Bad volume specification

2018-01-23 Thread Chris Boot
Hi all,

I'm running oVirt 4.2.0 and have been using oVirtBackup with it. So far
it has been working fine, until this morning. Once of my VMs seems to
have had a snapshot created that I can't delete.

I noticed when the VM failed to migrate to my other hosts, so I just
shut it down to allow the host to go into maintenance. Now I can't start
the VM with the snapshot nor can I delete the snapshot.

Please let me know what further information you need to help me diagnose
the issue and recover the VM.

Best regards,
Chris

[ovirt-users] ovirt-websoclket-proxy: handler exception: Incorrect padding

2018-01-23 Thread Peter Hudec
Hi all,

I'm using VNC/noVNC for accessing the servers console in case of emergency.
The console works fine, but I have got repeadly warning on the screen,
that the wss://:6100 could bot be connected with 3 recommendations

- process is running /the console works/
- I'm able to connect the 6100 port by teknet form my pc
- the certificate is imported

In the /var/log/messages on HE I have found repeating message when the
dialog appears.

Jan 23 12:33:32 dipovirt-engine02 ovirt-websocket-proxy.py:
ovirt-websocket-proxy[356] INFO msg:871 handler exception: Incorrect padding

Nothing more is logged. The popus is quite annoing, since it appears
every few seconds.

my side:
Mac OS X 10.13.2
FireFox 57.0.4

tested also on Ubuntu and Firefox 57.0.4 and works good,no exception.

Any help or advise to figure what's wrong?
regards
Peter

Hello Paul,

I think yes, depends on your switches. I'm working with lenovo
chassis' I/O modules that provide a configuration option called
network default-tag that does exactly this.
