Hi David, if you use the "Native client" option in the console options dialog and download the .vv file, it should contain something like: proxy=someProxy Does it? If you will have it, you could open it and look for a line like like: release-cursor=shift+f12 If it contains it, you can try to connect from command line using this file like: remote-viewer path_to_console.vv If it does not, it is either misconfigured "SpiceReleaseCursorKeys" or an engine bug. Anyway, you can try to manually edit the console.vv file and add the "release-cursor=shift+f12" line and try to connect using the remote-viewer again if it works this way. Hi Greg, so I have compiled it. First of all it looks really nice! I have tested it on FF 25 and it complains that the browser is not ideal, so maybe some of the things I have seen are not there on a proper browser... Some issues I have found (will not provide screenshots just description. Hey Brett,
That is strange - it looks like you have some VM which has memory size
larger than the max memory size.
You need to go over your VMs / templates to find which one has this wrong
config and change it.
Alternatively, to find it faster if you have many vms/templates, you could
run this SQL query against your engine database:
select vm_name from vm_static where mem_size_mb > max_memory_size_mb;

Hi iordan, sorry for the long response time - it was Christmas... ;) As I see in the https://github.com/iiordanov/remote-desktop-clients/blob/master/eclipse_projects/bVNC/AndroidManifest.xml the bVNC already has the support for calling it from outside using the intent mechanism but I don't understand how about aSPICE. As I understand, aSPICE is based on bVNC but I don't understand how exactly do they relate. Does it use the same Manifest just renamed? What is the mimeType than? If you could point me to a bit of documentation it would be great. About calling aSPICE and bVNC from outside using the .vv file - as I understand it is not supported for now, right? For us it does not make too big difference if you support the data using URI or .vv file - even the .vv may be preferred, but we will survive URI as well. One more question - does aSPICE support spice proxy? If you decide to unselect it, you have to make sure that VMs are actually visible to the user from which you are connecting. E.g. if you go in your phone to Settings -> Security -> Trusted credentials -> user do you see it there? If yes, and open it, you will see who has it been issued to. Than you have to configure in moVirt the same host address. As I see in the screenshot you are going to engine using the IP and I'm pretty sure the cert has been issued to the hostname. But in that case you have to setup the dns as you have written in some newer mail. Hey, thanx for feedback! well, currently the authentication part of movirt is pretty hacky - we are implementing a new one but not yet done. When implemented you will be able to enable/disable polling and also the login/logout will not happen at each request but only once and than the session will be re-used (e.g. no constant login/logout events). But it is not yet there, it is a pain, I know. Hi Markus, Are you sure the stacktrace is related to moVirt? Because this is for exporting the volume profile to PDF (for gluster) - moVirt does not touch anything like this. How do you have your connection settings filled? Do you have the URL in a form: https://hostnameOrIp:port/ovirt-engine/api and the username in form: name@domain ? Hi, it seems that something is wrong with the certificate you are using (e.g. the CA not imported to your device or not imported properly). You could try just to check the "disable https" checkbox (it disables the certificate checking, just for testing purposes). If it will work, we can try to import your actual CA cert. Hi, well, consoles are a bit tricky in moVirt. 1: There is a nice chance the stock aSPICE does not work yet and you need a newer version with some patches. You can get it from here: https://github.com/iiordanov/remote-desktop-clients/releases/download/v3.7.7/freeaSPICE-3.7.7-final.apk (maybe it is in play store already but not sure... just try that one please) 2: If this is not the issue there is a nice chance that your hosts are on a different network than your moVirt thus aSPICE /bVNC can not connect. You could verify this by installing some app which is able to ping from phone and try to ping your host from it. If it will not ping them and you don't want to expose the hosts directly, than the consoles are not going to work, because: 1: you could use SPICE PROXY - unfortunately aSPICE does not support it 2: you could use websocket proxy and connect from web clients (SPICE HTML5 or noVNC) - but moVirt does not integrate them since they need a connection to websocket proxy and in order to make a connection to websocket proxy you need a ticket signed by the private certificate of the engine. And the functionality of providing this is not exposed to REST API (only GWT-RPC) so we can not consume it. There is some bug around it and also some work being done around it so I think it will make into 3.6. But 3.6 is far far away... what problem do you still have? Still the "noVnc, error: WebUtil reference is not defined"? If yes, I'd say the novnc.noarch (or the spice-html5.noarch for SPICE) is not installed on your server (really, it has to be on the engine machine, not client). Otherwise I'd say it is because the ca.crt is not imported properly to your browser. Just please navigate your client web browser to http:///ca.crt and import it. Hi all, During Test Day 1 I have tested https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1090511 ([RFE] Improve fencing robustness by retrying failed attempts). Since did not have a HW with fencing device, tested how does it behave if trying to fence when the device is not present. This flows fail on class cast exceptions (BZ posted by Juan: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1114977). Not on API level. In webadmin/userportal you can do it in one go, but that
anyway triggers two different actions.
But now as I have tried it, if I create a VM from template or instance type
(using API), the NICs are completely ignored.
It does not matter if template or instance type since instance types just
inherit the behavior of the templates so are inheriting also the bug/missing
logic etc.
For me it seems like a bug but not sure. Is there a reason why the NICs are
ignored when the VM is created from a template with NICs using API?
What I think is that since the NIC can have different profiles assigned and
this can be edited on the FE, this functionality of sending different profile
for the specific NIC is just not implemented on API level, so the API just
completely ignores the NICs.

Hey Johann,
I think this is not an actual bug but a general issue with the migration
convergence + a general problem with reported error messages
during migrations (both are being worked on and targeted to 4.0).
In your particular case the root cause seems like this from logs:
"The migration took 40 seconds which is exceeding the configured maximum time
for migrations of 32 s
econds. The migration will be aborted."
So I'd say the VM was able to trash the memory faster than being moved to
destination and after 40s it was aborted.
What you can do is to go to the vdsm.conf on each host and tweak migration
progress timeout, migration bandwidth (if you have capacity for more than 32
MBps on the migration network per VM) and maybe max migration downtime (the
time how long the VM can be paused at the end of migration).
Also from inside of the guest you can try to reduce the load if possible so it
will not trash the memory so fast...

Hey All, the first RC of moVirt 1.4 has been released! It can be downloaded only using direct link[1] - the play store will be upgraded after considered stable. The most important feature of this release was to enhance the dashboard so it will look similar to the one coming to oVirt 4.0. Screenshot attached. Other changes: - Added new dashboard functionality (virtual/physical consumption, clickable cpu/memory consumption) - Better UI (dashboard, adding/editing triggers) - Better sorting in lists - Memory units are now displayed correctly - Fixed crashing bugs when looking at hosted engine Would you like to help/contribute? Changes from RC 1: - on dashboard showing only one of most utilized list (either VMs or Hosts, depending on the view) - show colored icons in top boxes only if there is some error/warning. Hey Frank, so according to the logs it seems that it failed in AsyncDataProvider.hasSpiceSupport(...) because of access to the map failed on NPE. Problem is that there are two accesses to map. So, there are two possibilities what happened: 1: the OsRepository query failed (to verify this please attach the engine logs (the part right after you log into webadmin - the values get cached and not requested anymore) 2: spiceSupportMatrix.get(osId) returned null. This could be because of the OS of ANY of the VMs currently shown in the VM list is not present in libosinfo config. I would guess this is the issue. To verify this could you please paste here the content of all .../osinfo.conf.d/*.properties and also the result of "select os, vm_name from vm_static" DB query so we can find which value is not there. While the question how did this happened I would like to start a parallel discussion about what to do when it happens next time (since this osinfo property files are editable we have to expect that some used OS will be deleted). It is certainly not correct to fail on NPE on FE... I can imagine following options to fix it: - fix only on FE by logic like: if the VM has assigned an OS which is not known, consider it is "other" (e.g. "0") - brings up the question what if the user deletes the "0" from the property file - fix this on engine side and do the magic (e.g. set the "other" if it is undefined) so the FE will never get an incorrectly assigned OS ID - have an "undefined" OS ID hardcoded in the engine which can not be deleted by the user and we can assign it when the actual does not exist - again, we can do this re-assignment on FE or engine - brings up the question what the ID should be and what if the user adds some custom item with this ID - do not transfer OS as ID and than some properties which maps to this IDs but real objects. So we could do instead of: AsyncDataProvider.hasSpiceSupport(getEntity().getOs(), getEntity().getVdsGroupCompatibilityVersion()) something like getEntity().getOs().hasSpiceSupport() So we could have an implementation of "undefined" os which could react appropriately. I like most the last option but at the same time it is quite a big refactoring... Hi Gianluca,
unfortunately you can not connect to SPICE console from moVirt when you have a
spice-proxy
on the way. The reason is that aSPICE (the client we use) does not support
SPICE proxy.
So, it is currently not supported - I have opened a bug for it
(https://github.com/matobet/moVirt/issues/188)
to have all info I have looked up now on one place so we can handle it.
