Re: [SOGo] Email is empty

2012-10-31 Thread Langdon Green
I also have a similar problem where the inbox is not visible for any
users after upgrading to 2.0.2.

The only error:
sogod[5278] parseTimeZone: cannot partse time notation 'GMT'

Connecting to local IMAP seems fine and nothing else was changed in the
upgrade I just apt-get upgraded

I am running Dovecot, postfix, Nginx on Debian Wheezy.

Thanks,

Langdon

We had that one too, but only twice.
It is caused by one (!) email, which can't be processed by SOGo.

In order to fix this, you have to find the email causing this, and
delete it with e.g. thunderbird.
Then SOGo works again as before.

We couldn't provide these emails to the developers, so they couldn't
reproduce it yet.
Perhaps you can, this would definitely help us all :-)

I have created a new user with only one message in the INBOX. With
tcpflow I can see that sogo discussing with the mail server and fetching
the mail but nothing in the web interface (web-sogo.png).

Please open a bug report about it at
http://www.sogo.nu/bugs

Thanks,
Christian Mack

[SOGo] Documentation of Connector and Integrator

2012-10-31 Thread Patrick Strasser

Hello!

I'm just trying to find out how the SOGo Connector and the SOGo
Integrator work and how to get it connecting to the server. The docs
from http://www.sogo.nu/english/support/documentation.html are not very
helpfull. The section about the Connector is merely a feature list, but
far from anything that helps me to get my addressbook synced. The FAQs
does not help either. IMHO most of the FAQs could be part of the
documentation anyway ;-)

Now I found some guides in various places, that seem to tell the most
important facts. Would it be welcome to add that information to the docs
in the repository?

[SOGo] Invitations across companies

2012-10-31 Thread Christian Rößner
Hi,

short question: I two companies do both have their own SOGo servers and on
person from company A invites a person from company B, the receiver gets mail.
If for example this person clicks on the mail attachment in Apple Mail, the
event is inserted. If I (spoken as person B) double click this event, then I
can chose between something like "Accept", "Decline" or "Maybe" (I have German
translation; best guess). It seems that my decision is not mailed to the person
of company A. If I open Firefox and log in to company B SOGo (my own SOGo), I
also can see this event. But while Apple Mail shows both persons A and B, the
SOGo web interface only shows B (myself).

So does SOGo send confirmations to company A or not? Or how can I activate this
feature?

Summary:

   <>
Person company A ---> Person company B

   <>
Person company B ---> Person company A
Confirmation seems not to leave company B. Nor web interface shows Person A

Thanks in advance

Re: [SOGo] SOGoUsersSource Configuration Help

2012-10-31 Thread Devinder Singh

Thanks Christain for confirming this is possible.

My major agenda is to avoid unnecessary user setup on Samba who do not
wish to use MS Outlook. For them Mysql authentication can work.

Whereas the ones using the Microsoft Outlook can be by privilege setup
up on Samba.

However, Right now I find that different SOGoUSersSource can be set only
for different domains and not for different mediums.

Kindly suggest how can I differentiate the Webbased login and the MS
Outlook with different SOGoUserSource configuration ?

Which parameter in the .GNUDefaults can decide which portal to be accessed ?

Kindly guide.

That is definitely wrong.
As long as they have the same user ID they are the same users within SOGo.

If you depend on Samba, then make sure that you have Samba available all
the time. Proposed SOGo config is not a way to go to solve possible
Samba unavailability.

Hi,

I would like to setup SOGoUsersSource configuration in a way that
same Domain can be configured with multiple Sources as below.

1.Webbased system authenticates with Mysql Database.
2.Mobile Devices authenticates with Mysql Database. ( Using
Funambol or Z-push )
3.MS Outlook authenticates with Samba. Also for some users can
connect through Funambol as an alternative.

I need this setup so that even if Samba goes down for some reason,
Web-based and Mobile setup would work for users.

Do not want Web-based login and Mobile Setup to be authenticated via
Samba At all.

You need one SOGoUsersSource for webfrontend and XxxxDAV and Z-Push
(which uses XxxxDAV) with MySQL configuration.

AFAIK Funambol connector copies the user on first use from SOGo into its
own database (not sure here, we don't use it). There is no difference
for Outlook with Funambol client and other devices with Funambol client.

Outlook with native access will always use SAMBA, and nothing else.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

Sorry my mistake. I had in mind another scenario where user name

That is definitely wrong.
As long as they have the same user ID they are the same users within SOGo.

Outlook doesn't authenticate via LDAP. It uses MAPI with Kerberos
tickets. sambaNTPassword attributes in LDAP are therefore not
sufficient. You need SAMBA to do this.

But if you use SAMBA and its build-in LDAP connectivity for SOGo
webfrontend and XxxxDAV is up to you.

I was thinking to avoid creating email address for each resource. Since

If this is something that works for every case, I would say that putting
your proxy section in standard SOGo package would allow SOGo install

Maybe SOGo team could consider this for future releases.

Re: [SOGo] Backup Redundant System

2012-10-31 Thread Nathanael Bettridge

As Frederico suggests below, multimaster LDAP is the answer for LDAP.
Normal LDAP master/slave replication works too if you don't mind your
LDAP DB going read-only when failed over (in practice this isn't usually
a big deal - password changes are about the only non-IT controlled
activity usually affected unless you're doing funky stuff with ldap).
While it's not something I'd necessarily recommend, Windows Active
Directory (or it's cousin, Active Directory Application Mode "ADAM") has
rather good multimaster replication built in if you're after a
set-and-forget config.

SQL DB - depends on your DB backend. Circular replication with MySQL
gives you active-active live multimaster replication (yes, it also
requires some maintenance to keep healthy, but it works), with MySQL
Proxy configured on the SQL client machine (SOGo server) to handle
failover. We hang a second passive readonly replica off each master for
backup too.

You can also use clever Apache config to handle the case where Apache
survives but one SOGo instance is down.

If you're going down this route btw I'd strongly recommend using a heavy
VM infrastructure - piling all this on one OS install at each end is
going to be painful and "breaky". If resources are a problem you can use
careful combinations of vm instances with kernel-level containers
(OpenVZ and such)

Also - you're going to want to monitor the hell out of everything
because with a sufficiently redundant infrastructure it can be hard to
know when something actually breaks :)

BTW I apologize, I'm a bit new at this, so I could be overlooking the
obvious.

I have the MX and DNS failover under control for access to either
location, and the replication sounds great, but how can I get service
failover for LDAP, SQL etc if the primary network or server goes
down? Eg if the primary server goes down, the MX failover will send
messages to the backup MX but then that backup MX is still pointing
to the primary LDAP db. I could use a failover to point it to the
replicated LDAP but that wouldn't work since it's a consumer, not a
provider, right? Same with the SQL DB?
You can use LDAP in multimaster mode, there is not a master LDAP
server, you should point your DNS to the both LDAP servers

primary DB at each site along with a replica DB of the alternate

- Use native SQL replication for the SOGo database
- Use MX failover for inbound email, with live MXes at each site
pointing at the same LDAP db and handing off delivery to the
Cyrus frontends
- Use anycast addresses, or DNS failover scripting, for
user-connectivity failover (for some clients we can use SRV
record tricks too)

We use a setup something like this and it works rather well,
though requires a fair few VM instances to run. We also put
simple (non-persistent disk) loadbalancing/failover VM's in front
of each service that can handle automatic failover (SQL, LDAP
read, MX and Cyrus Frontends for example) to handle failures
automatically.

It also makes backup easy since you run backup on the replicas

However, we're not using this with Exchange emulation (yet) so
it'll be interesting to figure out how it behaves in this environment

However for a simple deployment DRBD is probably easier :)

Re: [SOGo] SOGoUsersSource Configuration Help

2012-10-31 Thread Igor Vitorac

I think the mentioned config is not possible.
Pay attention that even if you have the same user details in 2 different
sources, they will behave like two different SOGo users.

If you depend on Samba, then make sure that you have Samba available all
the time. Proposed SOGo config is not a way to go to solve possible
Samba unavailability.

Igor

Any suggestions on the below requirement. Can someone guide how can
the SOGoUserSource be configured as below requirement ?

Kindly guide.

Re: [SOGo] Backup Redundant System

2012-10-31 Thread Daniel Müller
Just use samba4 (cldap) replication/dns mode between 2 hosts.

Re: [SOGo] First character omitted from mail title in SOGo mail module

2012-10-31 Thread Kai Stenders

Hey,

I'm also affected from this bug. but: this only shows up for eMails
which has special character like "umlaute" (like ä ö ü) in the subject.
In this case the subject is displayed as

?utf-8?q?"Pers=C3=B6nlicher_Kalender"_wurde_erstellt?=

And the first character of the mailtext is omitted.

Thanks,
Kai
