Hi Fabian,

Actually, this link should be better if you want to make sure you're
using the same source code that's published:
http://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdcategory=Office&fdid=com.funambol.androidsync&fdpage=1

When you install via the Android market you become dependent on the
publisher and have no control over what they publish (or stop
publishing), as this thread demonstrates.

In terms of functionality, I can't say if the application available on
the market has more or less. However, the .apk from F-Droid is a clean
build from 100% free, open source code. From the About page:
"Wherever possible, applications in the repository are built from
source, and that source code is checked for potential security or
privacy issues. This checking is far from exhaustive though, and there
are no guarantees."

F-Droid acts as an alternative marketplace for apps providing management
(install/update/remove), and where all apps are built from source. FSF
Europe recently launched a campaign to better inform people about using
free software on their Android devices:
http://fsfe.org/campaigns/android/android.html

Cheers,

Fabian

Thanks again for the reply. Indeed, it looks like a good idea to change the market place
(independent of this issue). However, I'm wondering what would happen when we install
Funambol 10.0.6 from there. Will Funambol Inc. update the open source version later and
remove the own-server-functionality this way? Will F-Droid afterwards push the new Funambol
OSS version via auto-update and messing up everything again?

Currently, as far as I see, there is Funambol CSS 10, OneMediaHub CSS 11, and Funambol OSS
10. While both v10 apps would work properly the v11 app broke everything. So I'm somewhat
concerned how Funambol OSS 11 will look like.

[SOGo] Funambol 11

2012-02-29 Thread Mirko Stoffers

Hi all,

I just got a complaint from a user that his Android no longer syncs with SOGo. He said that
the "Funambol" app has vanished and instead a "OneMediaHub" app from Funambol Inc. has appeared.

When I search for "funambol", I find two apps on the market:

OneMediaHub 11.0.1:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.funambol.androidsync&feature=search_result

FunV10 10.1.1:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.funambol.funv10&feature=search_result

My conclusion is that Funambol updated and renamed Funambol 10 to OneMediaHub 11, and added
a new app FunV10 10. So far so good, but the user-comments on the market indicate that
OneMediaHub 11 does not work with custom servers, i.e. it will not work with SOGo. Can
anybody confirm that? (Or did the users just not find the switch?)

What would you guys suggest to fix the problem? Reinstalling Funambol 10? Would this work
out-of-the-box w/o reconfiguring everything? Or would you (anyway) rather recommend
carddav/caldav?

Unfortunately, I don't have access to that mobile, so I'll have to give the user precise
advice how to fix the problem. Further, the address book must be accessible by bluetooth
(from the car) which I remember was a bit tricky with funambol.

Thanks,

Re: [SOGo] spanish support problem

2012-02-16 Thread Mirko Stoffers

In my case, the errors occur for Mail, Calendar and Contacts, but under the
following setups:

PC Win7 English / Sogo Web UI Spanish (Spain) : No errors
PC Win7 Spanish / Sogo Web UI Spanish (Spain) : errors
PC Win7 Spanish / Sogo Web default language - no manual election : errors

Before you log-in, SOGo needs to guess your language to display the login page (since it
does not know who you are, and which language you selected). In order to do so, SOGo takes
your browser settings (transmitted in HTTP headers). Obviously here is the bug. If I set my
FF to German/Germany, my login page says "Benutzername, Passwort" (German). If I however set
my FF to Spanish/Spain, my login page says "Username, Password" (does not sound Spanish to
me). I did not check, but I guess at the same time I will have similar errors in my log.

So, I guess, you _do_ have errors in the WebUI, you just did not check the login page ;) -
After login, SOGo takes your preferences if you selected "default" at the login page.

Re: [SOGo] Changing display of related emails in WebGUI similar to newer TB versions

2012-01-29 Thread Mirko Stoffers

Hi Georg,

Adding and editing of vacation messages is possible right now. SOGo is,
if I'm correct, only creating a sieve script. You can install the TB
addon "Sieve" to edit your sieve scripts. Of course, the managesieve
protocol has to be accessible from outside, some configurations on your
firewall might be needed.
On the other hand - it's really not user-friendly. No normal user will
start scripting just to enable vacation messages. :-)

OK, this does not sound like the solution I want to propose my users...

Sharing of mailboxes should be possible with the addon
"imap-acl-extensions", I guess?
Indeed, that does not look too bad. Nevertheless, I miss the 'search user' part. Users don't
know (and don't want to know) how exactly the user names are composed. Users want to enter a
first or last name and klick on the user they searched for. And users don't know what to
enter to get 'any authenticated user'. But nevertheless, it looks quite promising. Thanks
for pointing me to it.

Re: [SOGo] Changing display of related emails in WebGUI similar to newer TB versions

Hi Georg,

in my opinion the web interface is not meant to be the primary interface for extensive mail
management. It is rather meant to be used on PCs where you don't want (be allowed) to
install a fat client since you do not use them every day.

Instead of adding all the features of a fat client to the web GUI, I'd prefer seeing the
effort being put in adding the web GUI options to Thunderbird (extensions). It's quite
annoying to log-in to the web interface in order to set a vacation message or other
preferences, share a mail folder, etc. while TB is running anyway.

Just my 2 cents.

In Thunderbird I can "open" and "close" the threads. If you have a lot
of emails, the new smart filters in Thunderbird can help finding unread

Something that I would like to see in Thunderbird AND Sogo aswell,
"updated" threads (new mails) are "bounced" to the top of the email

final on this for Thunderbird 10/Lightning 1.2.

You also need to do one more thing to enable the ACL hooks on your "SOGo

you've installed the extension, quit Thunderbird. Edit the prefs.js manually
and add
something like:

user_pref("calendar.registry.42a2ce67-bafe-034d-8ff0-2db8c266faad.aclManagerClass",
"@inverse.ca/calendar/caldav-acl-manager;1");

Where "42a2ce67-bafe-034d-8ff0-2db8c266faad" is the GUID of your SOGo calendar
as defined by
Lightning. Do a "grep 'calendar.registry' prefs.js | grep uri" to see the list
you have.
Then, start Thunderbird.

This will also be included in SOGo Integrator at some point.

Re: [SOGo] Importing Private Events

2011-12-13 Thread Mirko Stoffers
Ok, whatsoever. Since I could not figure out how to force SOGo to recreate the _quick
relation, I created a script to do it for me, now.

Just in case other people have similar problems, I attached the script to this mail. Please
be aware that this script might contain errors and cause everything to explode, or worse. I
highly recommend to make a database backup before!!! Nobody can hold me liable for any
damage this script might cause!

Regards,

Mirko

PS: It actually was the c_classification field that is not correctly set by
Funambol.

three flags zero instead of one: c_classification, c_isopaque, and c_status. I

So my question: Is there a way to make SOGo recompute this jdoe123_quick table

It is not important, as SOGo 2 will have native Outlook synchronisation
via OpenChange. With this you don't need Funambol anymore.

In our opinion (University of Konstanz) fixing this is a waste of
development time.

Hm, yes, maybe you're right. But can you nevertheless tell me how to get my

I actually don't know what went wrong. There is an entry saying
"CLASS:PRIVATE\r" in the
vcal entry in the database. However, there must be another kind of private tag
anywhere else
that is not set up appropriately.

I'm still using Funambol 8.7 as suggested by the documentation. Does anybody know whether
newer Funambol versions fix that issue? If yes, I'd be graceful for short descriptions how
to upgrade Funambol how to get my database right ;) .

To fix this issue for now, I would also run an SQL statement if necessary, but

is also a kind
of security issue.

[SOGo] Global Addressbook

2010-09-20 Thread Mirko Stoffers
Hi community, so, now that E-Mail runs fine, I would like to setup the contacts
component. All users can already see a global address book. However, there is
no user able to insert "cards" into this address book: When I klick on "New
card" the "Add to" drop down menu simply does not show the global address book.
I would assume that by default no user has write permissions on that address
book, right? However, how do I set those permissions? Thanks Mirko Btw: It's
the same behaviour as in the demo. However, I thinks that it is intended for
the demo?

Re: [SOGo] Authentication against SASL

2010-09-20 Thread Mirko Stoffers
Hi Patrick, hm, I cannot really see the problem with authorization: My SQL
database doesn't contain any authorization information at all. Or do you mean
that a saslauthdb could contain users for different purposes (say, FTP server
access) who are not authorized for SOGo? For the latter I would recommend that
the authentication is done by SASL and the authorization by the PostgreSQL
table w/o the password field. However, obviously I have to accept that SOGo
does not currently support SASL. So I keep my configuration till SOGo comes to
support it ;) Thanks Mirko -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: "Patrick Ben

2010-09-09 Thread Mirko Stoffers
Hi Patrick, thanks for your reply. Yes, I also thought about that. However, I'm
not sure whether postgres is really a good source for authentication. I think,
postgres is more designed as a relational database than a password storage,
whilst the saslauthdb's only purpose is storing passwords. In practice, when I
insert the entries into the postgres database with "insert into ... md5('...')
..." the passwords are shown on the screen in clear and saved in the history
file. That's why I would prefer using a password storage (saslauthdb) for
passwords. ;) Thanks, Mirko = Patrick wrote: Mirko,
